27년 만에 탄생한 부산 공립유치원의 첫 남성교사는 부경대생이었다. 지난 2월 부경대 유아교육과를 졸업한 서동진 동문(12학번)이 그 주인공. 부산시교육청에 따르면 서 동문은 2018년도 공립유치원 교사 임용시험 일반부문에 6.55대 1의 경쟁률을 뚫고 합격했다. 부산 지역 차석 합격이다. 1991년 부산 공립유치원에 임용시험이 도입된 이후 장애 학생을 가르치는 특수교사로 남성이 합격한 적은 있었지만 일반교사로는 서 동문이 27년 만에 처음이다. 고교 재학 때부터 유치원 교사가 꿈이었다는 서 동문은 지난 2016년 보건복지부가 개최한 ‘저출산 극복 엠블럼‧슬로건 공모전’에서 우수상을 받기도 했다. 서 동문은 지난 1일자로 부산 기장군 정관읍 가동유치원에 발령받아 만 5세 반 교사를 맡아 수업하고 있다. 그는 “유치원 아이들이 역동적인 활동을 함께 하며 좋아하는 모습에 보람을 느낀다.”면서, “앞으로 아이들과 학부모들에게 좋은 남자 선생님이 아니라 그냥 좋은 선생님으로 기억될 수 있도록 열심히 하겠다.”고 포부를 밝혔다. 한편 부경대 유아교육과는 유치원교사 임용시험에 올해에만 서 동문을 비롯해 18명의 합격생을 배출하는 등 해마다 좋은 성적을 내고 있다. <부경투데이> In February, Seo Dong-jin alumni (12th grade), who graduated from Department of early childhood education at Pukyong National University, is the main c Since 1991, when Busan Public Kindergarten was introduced as a teacher test, males have passed the special teacher who teaches students with disabilities, but for the first time in the past 27 years, Seo Dong-jin has been the first general teacher.
