부경대학교 공학교육혁신센터(센터장 배성용)가 산업통상자원부로부터 2년 연속 우수 센터로 인정받았다. 부경대 공학교육혁신센터는 최근 서울 올림픽파크텔에서 열린 ‘공학교육혁신센터 창의융합형 공학인재 양성지원사업 2018년 평가’에서 지난해에 이어 ‘우수’ 평가를 받았다. 창의융합형 공학인재 양성지원사업은 공학교육의 글로벌 경쟁력을 높이고 산업계 수요에 맞는 창의적 공학인재를 키우기 위해 산업통상자원부와 한국산업기술진흥원이 지원하는 사업이다. 전국 75개 공학교육혁신센터가 수행하고 있다. 부경대 공학교육혁신센터는 지난해 지역사회의 어려움을 해결하기 위해 공학봉사단과 연계한 사회기여형 캡스톤디자인 프로그램 운영을 비롯해 타 대학 공학교육혁신센터와 연계한 직무역량강화교육과 창업동기유발 프로그램 운영, 디자인 설계작품의 사업화 연계를 위한 기술창업캠프 및 엔지니어링 캠프 등 공과대학 학생들을 위한 다양한 공학교육 프로그램을 내실 있게 운영해 좋은 평가를 받았다. 센터는 이번 평가 결과에 따라 기본 사업비 대비 10% 많은 2억 원의 사업비를 확보해 올해 사업을 운영한다. 배성용 센터장은 “차세대 공학인재를 키워 글로벌 4차 산업혁명시대를 선도하기 위해 올해에도 공과대학 재학생을 중심으로 다양한 맞춤형 사업을 추진해 나가겠다.”고 말했다. 한편 부경대 공학교육혁신센터는 동남권 14개 대학 공학교육혁신센터 가운데 가장 뛰어난 산혁협력 활동성과로 ‘2018 동남권 올해의 대학 최우수상’도 받는 등 공학교육 분야의 우수한 활약을 인정받고 있다. <부경투데이>
Pukyong National University Engineering Education Innovation Center has been awarded 'Excellent' in last year's evaluation in 'the 2018 Evaluation of the Project for Supporting the Development of Creative and Convergent Engineering Human Resources at the Center for Engineering Education Innovation' at the Seoul Olympic Parktel recently. The project to support the development of convergent engineering talents is a project supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT) to enhance the global competitiveness of engineering education and to develop creative engineering talents that meet industry needs. It is being implemented by 75 engineering education innovation centers nationwide. In order to solve the difficulties of the local community last year, Pukyong National University's Engineering Education Innovation Center has been operating a community-contributing capstone design program linked with the engineering corps, including job competency enhancement training, entrepreneurial incentive programs. The center received a good reputation for running a variety of engineering education programs for technical college students, such as technology start-up camps and engineering camps, for the commercialization of works. According to the results of the evaluation, the center will secure a project cost of 200 million won, which is 10% higher than the basic project cost, and begin the project this year. Bae Seong-yong, director of the center said, "In order to lead the era of the global 4th industrial revolution by nurturing next-generation engineering talent, I will continue to pursue various customized projects centering on students from engineering colleges."
