배움의 기회를 놓친 사람들에게 대학 졸업의 길을 열어주기 위해 동남권 처음으로 설립된 부경대학교 미래융합대학이 첫 졸업생을 배출했다. 부경대학교(총장 장영수)는 지난 2017년 처음 입학했던 미래융합대학 ‘늦깎이 대학생’들이 4년 동안의 주경야독(晝耕夜讀)을 거쳐 2월 19일 영예의 졸업장을 받았다고 밝혔다. 미래융합대학은 고졸이상 학력을 가진 만 30세 이상 성인학습자나 고교(특성화고, 마이스터고) 졸업 후 취업한 재직자(3년 이상)들에게 정규 학사학위를 취득할 수 있도록 지원하는 교육부 평생교육체계지원사업이다. 이날 졸업한 학생들은 ▷평생교육·상담학과(23명), ▷기계조선융합공학과(12명), ▷전기전자소프트웨어공학과(18명) 등 53명이다. 졸업생 나이는 20대에서 60대에 이른다. 이들은 지난 4년 동안 야간과 주말, 온라인수업 등 성인학습자를 위한 맞춤형 학사제도를 통해 향학열을 불태웠다. 전기전자소프트웨어공학과 박진우 씨(47세·회사원)는 이날 함께 졸업하는 3,298명의 부경대 졸업생 중에서 성적 우수생으로 뽑혀 총장표창을 받았다. 이날 부녀가 동시에 졸업해서 화제다. 아버지인 기계조선융합공학과 최대식 씨와 딸인 해양공학과 최은영 씨, 아버지인 기계조선융합공학과 감은근 씨와 딸인 화학과 감하영 씨가 이날 함께 졸업장을 받았다. 이날 평생교육·상담학과를 졸업한 김승주 씨(여？59세·자영업)는 “평생교육·상담 전문인이 되기 위해 늦게나마 용기를 내어 공부를 시작했는데 인생 최고의 결정이었다.”면서, “캠퍼스에서 학우들과 보낸 시간들이 평생 소중한 추억으로 남을 것.”이라고 말했다. 한편 부경대 미래융합대학 기계조선융합공학과와 공공안전경찰학과는 오는 23일(화)까지 2021학년 신입생을 수능 없이 ‘서류+면접’ 전형으로 선발한다.(문의 051-629-6601~4) <부경투데이> "I started university late, but it was the best time ever of my life." Park Jin-woo (age 47, a company employee) at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Software Engineering was selected as an excellent student among the 3,298 Pukyong National University graduates who are graduating with him on the same day and received the President's award.
