부경대학교(총장 장영수)와 국가과학기술인력개발원(KIRD, 원장 박귀찬)은 23일 부경대에서 과학기술정책 전문인력 육성을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다.
이날 오후 부경대 용당캠퍼스 행정관 3층 회의실에서 열린 이번 협약식에는 장영수 부경대 총장, 박귀찬 KIRD 원장, 옥영석 사업 총괄 책임교수, 송교욱 부산연구원장, 김병진 부산산업과학혁신원장 등이 참석했다.
양 기관은 이번 협약으로 과학기술 발전과 지역혁신을 지원할 과학기술정책 전문가 육성을 위해 협력하기로 했다.
이를 위해 △학술행사 개최 및 공동연구 수행 △국내·외 협력 네트워크 공유 및 확대 △과학기술인 경력개발 및 교육 콘텐츠 활용·개발 협력 △과학기술정책 전문가 정보 공유 등을 추진할 계획이다.
장영수 부경대 총장은 “KIRD와 업무협력으로 교육 프로그램의 질적 개선뿐만 아니라 배출인력의 경력개발, 국내·외 네트워크를 활용한 학술교류 증진 등 다양한 분야에서 시너지를 창출할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.”라고 말했다.
박귀찬 KIRD 원장은 “과학기술 인재성장 종합지원 기관인 KIRD와 열린 사고와 책임 있는 실천력을 갖춘 인재 양성을 지향하는 부경대가 국가 과학기술의 미래를 위해 협력하게 되어 기쁘다.”라며, “이번 협약으로 과학기술정책 전문가 교육 프로그램의 질적 제고를 통해 이론과 실무를 갖춘 인재를 배출할 수 있기를 바란다.”라고 밝혔다.
이와 함께 부경대는 이날 협약식에 이어 용당캠퍼스 3공학관에서 과학기술정책 전문인력 육성지원사업 현판식도 열었다.
부경대는 지난 2016년 과학기술정보통신부의 이 사업에 처음 선정된 이후 2017년부터 대학원 과학기술정책학과를 개설해 부산연구원, 부산산업과학혁신원, 부산테크노파크, 부산연합기술지주와 함께 동남권 과학기술정책 전문인력을 육성해왔으며, 지난해 2단계 사업 선정과 함께 과학기술정책대학원 주관대학으로 선정된 바 있다. <부경투데이>

PKNU - KIRD concluded MOU for training experts in science and technology
On the 23rd, at the Hanmir bldg., Yongdang Campus of Pukyong National University
Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) and the Korea Institute of Human Resources Development in Science & Technology (Director Park Gwi-chan, KIRD) signed a business agreement (MOU) to train professional manpower in science and technology policy on the 23rd at Pukyong National University.
Jang Young-Soo, the president of Pukyong National University, Park Gwi-chan, Director of the Korea Institute of Human Resources Development in Science & Technology, Ock Young-seok, Head of the Project, Song Gyo-wook, Director of the Busan Research Institute and Director Kim Byeong-jin from the Busan Innovation Institute of Industrial Science and Technology Planning(BISTEP) participated in the agreement ceremony held in the conference room on the 3rd floor of Hanmir Building in Yongdang Campus of the Pukyong National University.
Through this agreement, both agreed to cooperate to train science and technology policy experts who will support the development of science and technology and innovation in the region.
Through this, the two organizations plan to △host academic events and conduct joint research, △share and expand domestic and international cooperation networks, △develop careers for science and technology professionals, △use and develop educational contents, and △share information about science and technology policy experts.
Jang Young-Soo, the president of Pukyong National University said, "Our university is expected to create synergies in various fields such as improving the quality of educational programs, developing the careers of human resources, and promoting academic exchange using domestic and international networks through business cooperation with KIRD."
Director Park Gwi-chan said, "We, KIRD, a comprehensive support organization for science and technology talent growth, are very pleased to cooperate with Pukyong National University, which aims to cultivate talented individuals with open minds and people of action, for the future of national science and technology," he went on, "Through this agreement, I look forward to improving the quality of the training programs for experts in science and technology policy to make possible to produce experts in theory and practice."
In addition, Pukyong National University held a signboard hanging ceremony for the support project of training experts in science and technology policy in Engineering Building #3 on Yongdang Campus following the main ceremony.
Since Pukyong National University was first selected for this project hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT in 2016, the Graduate School of Science and Technology Policy opened in 2017 has trained experts in science and technology policy in the Southeast region with the Busan Research Institute, the Busan Innovation Institute of Industrial Science and Technology Planning (BISTEP), Busan Technopark (BTP), Busan United Holdings. In addition, Pukyong National University was selected as the host university of the Graduate School of Science and Technology Policy along with the second phase project last year.
