대학 경쟁력을 높이기 위한 부경대학교의 혁신노력이 언론의 주목을 받았다. 동아일보는 3월 2일 ‘벼랑 끝 위기의 지방대, 각자도생 나선다’라는 제목의 기사를 통해 학령인구 감소에 따른 대학의 위기를 극복하기 위한 대학들의 노력을 모아 소개했다. 이날 이 신문의 16면 7단 크기의 박스기사였다. 또 기사와 함께 부경대 장영수 총장이 지난달 26일 온/오프라인으로 열린 신입생 오리엔테이션 행사에서 화상으로 새내기들과 대화하는 사진을 크게 게재해 눈길을 끌었다. 이어 부경대의 주제별 프로젝트형 온라인 강의인 ‘문화아카이브’를 비롯, 영남대의 대학 조직개편, 동서대의 해외 스타트업 투자 MOU, 경북대의 융합학부 신설 등을 소개했다. 2학기부터 운영될 부경대의 온라인 강의 ‘문화아카이브’는 서로 다른 전공의 부경대 교수 4명이 모여 만든 온라인 교양강의다. 이 강의는 살아가는데 필요한 집, 밥, 옷, 술, 돈 등 5개 주제에 대한 강의계획서를 각각 제시한다. 또 각 강의계획서는 모듈(module) 방식을 접목해 문화•예술, 인문, 과학기술, 정치•사회, 경제•경영 등 5가지 영역별 학습주제와 학습목표로 구성돼 있다. 이에 따라 학생은 ‘집-문화•예술, 밥-과학기술, 옷-인문, 술-정치•사회, 돈-경제•경영’ 혹은 ‘집-공학, 밥-인문, 옷-정치•사회, 술-경제•경영, 돈-문화•예술’ 등 관심사에 따라 강의유형을 개인 맞춤형으로 구성해 각 차시마다 해당 교수의 수업을 들을 수 있다. 이 기사는 부경대 관계자의 말을 인용, “하나의 전공능력을 갖춘 학생이 또 다른 전공을 습득할 수 있는 크로스오버형 강의의 장점을 극대화하기 위해 노력했다. 통합적인 사고를 키우는 데 도움이 될 것”이라고 밝혔다. 이와 함께 부경대는 최근 ‘내가 원하는 융복합 교양교과목’ 공모전에서 학생들이 직접 제안한 ‘데이터분석기초’, ‘지구환경거버넌스’, ‘4차산업혁명개론’ 등 3개 강의를 올해 1학기와 2학기에 걸쳐 개설하기로 결정하는 등 학생 중심의 교육 혁신을 이끌고 있다는 평가를 받고 있다.<부경투데이> ▷기사 전문 읽기 “클릭!!” Pukyong National University's efforts to innovate to increase university competitiveness attracted the attention of the media. Pukyong National University's online lecture 'Culture Archive', which opens from the second semester, is an online liberal art lecture created by four Pukyong National University professors from different majors. This lecture presents a lecture plan for each of the five topics necessary for living: house, food, clothes, alcohol, and money. In addition, each syllabus is composed of learning topics and learning objectives in five areas, including culture•arts, humanities, science and technology, politics•society, economy•management, by combining a module method. Accordingly, students can choose 'home-culture•art, meal-science and technology, clothes-liberal arts, alcohol-politics•society, money-economy•management' or 'house-engineering, meal-liberal arts, clothes-politics•society, alcohol-economy•management, monet-culture•art' according to students' interests and students can personalize the type of lecture, so it is possible to take classes from the professor at each time. This article quoted an official at Pukyong National University, saying, "Our university has endeavored to maximize the merits of crossover lectures that allow students with one major ability to acquire another major. It is expected that it will enhence integrative thinking skill." In addition to this, Pukyong National University is leading student-centered educational innovation by making decision to open three lectures, including 'Basic of Data Analysis', 'Environmental Governance of Earth' and 'Introduction to the Fourth Industrial Revolution', which students directly suggested 'Best Convergence Liberal Arts Subject I picked' contest including crossover lectures this year over the first and second semesters. <Pukyong Today> |
