부경대, ‘정보융합대학 신설’ 단과대 혁신 나섰다
- 22일 ‘정보융합대학 출범기념 워크숍’ 온라인 개최

국립부경대학교(총장 장영수)가 4차 산업혁명을 선도하기 위한 새로운 플랫폼으로 별도 단과대학을 신설하는 학사구조 혁신에 나섰다.
부경대는 12월 22일 오후 1시 30분 향파관 2층 회의실에서 신설 단과대학인 정보융합대학 출범 기념 워크숍 ‘AI시대, 교육의 미래를 엿보다’를 온라인 방식으로 개최했다.
부경대는 올해 교양교육을 전담하는 학부대학 신설에 이어, 융·복합 학문 교육과 미래 인재를 키우기 위해 내년에 신설하는 정보융합대학의 설립취지와 발전방향을 대내외에 알리기 위해 이번 행사를 마련했다.
부경대가 학문 분야에 따른 별도 단과대학을 잇달아 신설하는 것은 정부의 평생교육 정책사업으로 문을 연 미래융합대학을 제외하면 지난 1996년 부산수산대와 부산공업대 통합으로 부경대가 출범한 이후 25년만이다.
부경대는 통합 이후부터 지금까지 학문 분야를 기준으로 한 인문사회과학대학, 자연과학대학, 경영대학, 공과대학, 수산과학대학, 환경·해양대학 등 6개 단과대학 체제를 유지해왔다.
내년 신설되는 부경대 정보융합대학에는 ‘휴먼바이오융합전공’, ‘휴먼ICT융합전공’, ‘빅데이터융합전공’, ‘소프트웨어·인공지능전공’ 등 첨단 미래산업 분야의 14개 전공이 배치돼 4차 산업혁명시대와 미래 첨단 신산업을 이끌 인재를 양성하게 된다.
이날 워크숍에는 장영수 총장과 보직교수, 정보융합대학 소속 교원과 초청 외부인사 등 50여 명이 온라인으로 참석한 가운데 정보융합대학 소개와 함께 외부인사 초청강연으로 인천재능대 김진형 총장(중앙대 석좌교수)의 ‘대한민국 대학의 역할: 실무기술 인력의 양성을 중심으로’, 네이버 송대섭 이사의 ‘인공지능과 윤리’ 등 강연이 진행됐다.
송하주 정보융합대학 설립위원장은 “이번 단과대학 신설로 새로운 학문과 산업 발전을 이끌고, 특성화된 종합대학으로서 역량을 적극 활용하는 노력으로 지역 국립대학의 혁신 선도 사례가 되기를 기대한다.”라고 밝혔다. <부경투데이>

As a steppingstone for leading the 4th industrial revolution, Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) started to reorganize the academic system by establishing a separate college as a new platform.
Pukyong National University held an online workshop to announce the launch of the College of Information Technology and Convergence called 'the AI Era, looking into the Future of Education' at 1:30 pm on December 22 in the conference room on the second floor of the Hyangpa building.
Pukyong National University organized this event to publicize the purpose and development direction of the College of Information Technology and Convergence, which will be established next year, to develop convergence and complex academic education and future talent following the establishment of an undergraduate college dedicated to liberal arts education this year.
It is the first time in 25 years since Pukyong National University was established through the integration of Busan Fisheries University and Pusan Institute of Technology in 1996 that Pukyong University established separate colleges for each academic field, except for the College of Future Convergence which was opened as a lifelong education project of the government.
Pukyong National University has maintained a system of six colleges based on academic fields, namely the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Natural Sciences, College of Business Administration, College of Engineering, College of Fisheries Science, and College of Environmental and Marine Science and Technology since its integration.
In Pukyong National University’s College of Information Technology and Convergence, which will be established next year, 14 majors in the field of advanced future industries will be open, including 'Human Bio Convergence', 'Human ICT Convergence, 'Big Data Convergence', and 'Major of Software & AI', to nurture the talents who will lead the 4th industrial revolution era and future high-tech new industries.
On this day, about 50 people, including President Jang Young-Soo, professors in charge, faculty members from the College of Information Technology and Convergence, and invited outsiders, attended the workshop online, provided with the introduction on College of Information Technology and Convergence and lectures by outsiders, including lecture 'The role of Korean universities: Focusing on nurturing human resources with practical skills' by President Kim Jin-Hyoung from the Incheon Jaeneung University (Chair-Professor of Chung-Ang University), 'AI and ethics' by Director Song Dae-Seop from Agenda Research of Naver Corporation.
Song Ha-Joo, Director of the College of Information Technology and Convergence, said, "Taking this new college as an opportunity, we expect that it will lead the development of new academics and industries and become a leading example of innovation in regional national universities through efforts to actively utilize its capabilities as a specialized comprehensive university." <Pukyong Today>
