국립부경대, ‘전국 대학생 포뮬러 자작 자동차 대회’ 우승
- 자작자동차 동아리 ‘D.O.S’ … 포뮬러 부문 1위 올라

국립부경대학교(총장 배상훈)의 자작자동차 동아리 D.O.S(Dream Of Senna·팀장 주현빈·지도교수 박영환) 팀이 2024 전국 대학생 포뮬러 자작 자동차 대회(2024 제3회 KFGP STUDENT)에서 우승을 차지했다.
D.O.S 팀은 영암군 주최로 최근 영암 코리아인터내셔널서킷(KIC)에서 29개 대학 43개 팀이 참가한 가운데 열린 이번 대회에서 포뮬러 부문 1위에 올랐다.
KFGP STUDENT는 F1 대회가 열렸던 국제자동차경주장에서 진행되는 대회로, 전국 자동차 관련 대학들이 참가해 학생들이 직접 제작한 자작 자동차로 경주장을 달리며 순위를 가리는 방식으로 진행된다.
국립부경대 D.O.S 팀은 3.045km 코스를 달리는 타임 트라이얼 방식의 포뮬러 부문에서 주행기록 19분 289초, 피트스탑기록 1분 7초, 피트스탑환산기록 3분 21초, 전체기록 22분 51초로 이 부문 1위에 올랐다.
국립부경대 D.O.S 팀은 649cc 용량의 동력장치를 이용한 포뮬러 경주용 자동차를 직접 설계해 경량화에 중점을 두고 제작하고, 주행 중 타이어 교체 시간인 피트스탑기록을 단축하기 위해 집중적으로 연습해 우수한 성적을 거뒀다.
D.O.S 팀장 주현빈 학생은 “팀원들과 함께 해왔던 모든 활동과 노력에 대해서 보상받은 것 같아 기쁘다. 우리가 다 같이 만든 차가 충분히 경쟁력이 있다는 걸 증명할 수 있었던 좋은 기회였다.”라고 소감을 밝혔다.
한편 국립부경대 자작자동차 동아리 D.O.S는 1996년 창립해 각종 자장자동차대회에서 수상하는 등 활약하고 있다. <부경투데이>
Pukyong National University Wins ‘National University Formula Student Car Competition’
-Student Racing Team ‘D.O.S’ … Takes 1st Place in Formula Category
Pukyong National University (President Bae Sang-hoon) student racing team D.O.S (Dream Of Senna, Team Leader Joo Hyun-bin, Faculty Advisor Professor Park Young-hwan) won first place at the 2024 National University Formula Student Car Competition (2024 3rd KFGP STUDENT).
The D.O.S team claimed victory in the Formula category at this year’s competition, held at the Korea International Circuit (KIC) in Yeongam, where 43 teams from 29 universities participated.
The KFGP STUDENT is a competition held at the same international motorsport circuit where F1 races have taken place. In this event, universities from across the country participate with self-built race cars created by students, racing to determine rankings.
Pukyong National University’s D.O.S team claimed first place in the Formula category, completing the 3.045 km time trial course with a driving time of 19 minutes 289 seconds, a pit stop time of 1 minute 7 seconds, a pit stop conversion time of 3 minutes 21 seconds, and a total time of 22 minutes 51 seconds.
The D.O.S team at Pukyong National University designed and built a formula race car using a 649cc power unit, focusing on weight reduction, and they achieved excellent results by focusing on reducing pit stop times for tire changes during the race.
D.O.S team leader, Joo Hyun-bin, shared his thoughts, saying, “I’m happy to see our efforts and activities with the team being rewarded. It was a great opportunity to prove that the car we built together is truly competitive.”
Meanwhile, Pukyong National University’s self-made car club, D.O.S, which was founded in 1996, has been actively participating and winning awards in various self-made car competitions. <Pukyong Today>
