국립부경대, 멕시코 5개 대학과 잇달아 학술교류협정 체결

국립부경대학교(총장 배상훈)가 멕시코의 5개 대학과 잇달아 국제 학술교류협정을 체결하며 글로벌네트워크 확대에 나섰다.
배상훈 국립부경대 총장은 지난 2월 13일 멕시코 유카탄자치대학교를 시작으로 14일 아나우악마야브대학교, 로드리게스타마요대학교, 17일 캄페체대학교, 카르멘자치대학교와 잇달아 학술교류협정을 체결했다.
이번 국제 학술교류협정 체결은 국립부경대가 글로벌 허브 도시를 목표로 내세운 부산과 연계해 외국인 유학생 유치를 확대하는 국제화 전략의 하나다.
한류의 영향으로 멕시코, 라틴아메리카 지역에서 우리나라 유학에 대한 수요가 높아지는 가운데, 우수한 유학 환경을 갖춘 부산 지역과 국립부경대를 적극 알리기 위해 나선 것이다.
이를 위해 국립부경대는 각 대학과 교육협력과 인적 교류를 위한 학술교류협정을 체결한 것을 비롯, 멕시코 대학생을 대상으로 부산과 국립부경대의 위상과 강점을 홍보하는 특강도 진행해 현지의 호응을 얻었다.
국립부경대는 이번 협약에 이어 각 대학과 유학생 유치를 비롯해 복수학위, 교환학생 교류 등 관련 업무 협의를 본격화할 계획이다.
한편 국립부경대는 지난해 10월 기준 학·석·박사과정, 석박사통합과정, 교환학생, 연수과정, 복수학위 등에 68개국 1,752명의 외국인 유학생이 재학하고 있으며, 이 가운데 멕시코 유학생은 3명이다. <부경투데이>
Pukyong National University Signs Academic Exchange Agreements with Five Mexican Universities
-Expanding Global Network with Regions Popular for Korean Wave
Pukyong National University (President Bae Sang-hoon) has expanded its global network by signing academic exchange agreements with five universities in Mexico.
On February 13, President Bae signed the first agreement with the Autonomous University of Yucat？n, followed by similar agreements with An？huac Mayab University, Rodr？guez Tamayo University on the 14th, Campeche University, and Carmen University on the 17th.
These international academic exchange agreements are part of Pukyong National University’s internationalization strategy aimed at increasing the number of international students and positioning Busan, as a global hub city.
Amid the growing demand for studying in South Korea in Mexico and Latin America due to the influence of the Korean Wave, Pukyong National University has actively promoted Busan and the university as an excellent destination for international students.
To this end, Pukyong National University has signed academic exchange agreements with the universities to foster educational cooperation and human exchanges. Additionally, the university conducted special lectures to highlight the status and strengths of Busan and Pukyong National University to Mexican students, receiving positive feedback from the local community.
Following this agreement, Pukyong National University plans to actively engage in discussions with each university on topics such as international student recruitment, dual degree programs, and student exchange initiatives.
As of October, last year, Pukyong National University is home to 1,752 international students from 68 countries, enrolled in undergraduate, master’s, doctoral, integrated master-doctoral, exchange student, training, and dual degree programs.
