국립부경대, 해수부 부산 이전 맞춰 ‘해양수도 부산’ 전략 논의
- 21일 ‘해양 수도 부산의 미래 전망 포럼’… 김영춘 전 해수부 장관 기조강연

해양수산부의 부산 이전이 본격화하는 가운데, 대학, 지자체, 산업체, 연구기관들이 해양 수도 부산의 미래를 전망하고 성장을 모색하는 행사가 열렸다.
국립부경대학교(총장 배상훈)는 7월 21일(월) 오전 부경컨벤션홀에서 ‘해양 수도 부산의 미래 전망 포럼’을 개최했다. 주제는 ‘글로벌 해양수도 부산의 미래 전략과 비전’이다.
포럼에는 배상훈 국립부경대 총장을 비롯, 최용석 국립수산과학원장, 김종덕 한국수산자원공단 이사장, 서종군 부산기술창업투자원장, 김민종 한국해양수산연수원장, 배정철 한국조선해양기자재연구원장, 정연송 부산공동어시장 대표이사, 이형균 한국원양산업협회 부산지부장 등 해양수산 분야 주요 기관장들이 한자리에 모였다.
이날 김영춘 전 해양수산부 장관이 기조 강연자로 나서 ‘해양수도 부산, 조건과 전략’을 주제로 강연한 데 이어, 북극항로, 항만물류, 블루푸드 등을 주제로 9개의 초청 강연이 이어졌다.
김영춘 전 장관은 기조강연에서 “부산은 우리나라 발전의 교두보 역할을 할 수 있는 지정학적 조건을 갖추고 있어 해양수산부가 이전하고, 북극항로가 개척되면 인재와 기업을 끌어들이는 성장의 날개를 달게 될 것.”이라며, “지자체와 중앙정부, 기업, 대학 등 모든 주체가 함께 부산을 한국의 해양수도는 물론, 동아시아의 글로벌 해양수도로 조성해 국가 발전을 견인해야 한다.”라고 강조했다.
이어 초청 강연으로 이날 오후 동원장보고관 1층에서 △북극항로에 대응한 부산항의 준비(김은우 한국해양수산개발원 항만산업연구실장) △AI기반 항만물류 서비스 전략(양현석 한국항만물류전략연구원 연구위원) △해양에너지 기반 섹터커플링 기술(정남조 한국에너지기술연구원 SCI융합연구단장) △한국형 스마트 크루즈(유다종 팬스타그룹 이사) △부산의 글로벌 물류 허브로의 발전 전략(국립부경대 안태건 교수)이 진행됐다.
이어 △글로벌 블루푸드 미래리더 양성(국립부경대 김영목 교수) △선박 탈탄소화를 위한 친환경 엔진기술 동향(차상배 Everllence Korea Ltd. 부문장) △해양개발의 새로운 도전과 기회: 심해저 광물자원(김종욱 한국해양과학기술원 박사) △해양수산부 PNT 추진현황(전기준 인천지방해양수산청 서기관) 강연이 열렸다.
배상훈 총장은 “이번 포럼을 통해 대학, 산업체, 연구기관, 지자체 등 다양한 주체가 협력하여 지속 가능한 부산형 혁신 생태계 조성 전략을 논의하고, 부산이 미래 해양 강국을 이끄는 글로벌 해양 허브 도시로 도약하는 성장 동력을 마련할 것으로 기대한다.”라고 밝혔다. <부경투데이>

Pukyong National University Discusses Strategy for ‘Maritime Capital Busan’ in Line with Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries’ Relocation

As the relocation of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to Busan gains momentum, universities, local governments, industries, and research institutes gathered to envision the future and seek growth strategies for the city as a maritime capital.
Pukyong National University (President Bae Sang-hoon) held the “Future Prospects of Maritime Capital Busan” Forum on the morning of July 21 at the Pukyong Convention Hall. The forum was themed “Strategies and Vision for Global Maritime Capital Busan.”
Key leaders in the marine and fisheries sectors attended the event, including President Bae Sang-hoon of Pukyong National University, Director Choi Yong-seok of the National Institute of Fisheries Science, Chairman Kim Jong-deok of the Korea Fisheries Resources Agency, President Seo Jong-goon of Busan Technopark Investment Foundation, President Kim Min-jong of the Korea Institute of Maritime and Fisheries Technology, President Bae Jeong-chul of the Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering, CEO Jeong Yeon-song of Busan Cooperative Fish Market, and Director Lee Hyung-kyun of the Korea Overseas Fisheries Association’s Busan branch.
Former Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Kim Young-choon delivered the keynote speech titled “Busan as a Maritime Capital: Conditions and Strategies.” His lecture was followed by nine invited talks on key topics such as the Arctic shipping route, port logistics, and blue food.
In his keynote address, former Minister Kim Young-choon stated, “Busan has the geopolitical conditions to serve as a gateway for Korea’s development. With the relocation of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and the opening of the Arctic route, the city will gain momentum to attract talent and businesses.“ He emphasized, “Local and central governments, industries, and universities must all join forces to not only establish Busan as Korea’s maritime capital, but also elevate it into a global maritime hub of East Asia that drives national growth.”
