국립부경대, 자유전공학부 26학번 신입생 첫 OT 개최
- 20일 대학극장 등 … 자유전공학부 신입생 등 600여 명 참가
- 학사제도 안내·친밀감 프로그램·수강지도 등 대학생활 첫걸음 준비

국립부경대학교(총장 배상훈)는 1월 20일 대학극장, 부경컨벤션홀 등에서 2026학년도 자유전공학부 오리엔테이션을 개최했다.
자유전공학부는 신입생이 무전공으로 입학한 뒤, 2학년부터 본인의 진로 희망에 따라 자유롭게 전공을 선택할 수 있는 학부다. 지난 2025학년도에 처음 신설된 이 학부는 올해 두 번째 신입생으로 900여 명을 선발했다.
자유전공학부 지원 전담기구인 학부대학 자유전공길라잡이센터 주관으로 열린 이날 행사는 신입생들과 멘토단 등 600여 명이 참가한 가운데 학부 소개를 비롯, 학사제도 및 대학생활 안내, 지도교원 소개, 지원 프로그램 안내, 캠퍼스 투어, 친밀감 형성 프로그램, 수강신청 지도 등으로 진행됐다.
특히, 지난해 자유전공학부 출신 선배들이 멘토단으로 참여해 전공탐색과 대학생활 노하우를 신입생들에게 직접 안내했다. 이어 자유전공학부 출신 선배들이 지난 1년간의 전공탐색 여정 발표회를 통해 특강을 진행하며 신입생들과 생생한 경험을 공유했다.
최호석 학부대학장은 “이번 행사가 자유전공학부생들의 즐거운 대학생활의 첫 시작이 되길 바라며, 학생들이 전공을 자유롭게 탐색하여 미래를 설계할 수 있도록 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 밝혔다. <부경투데이>

Pukyong National University Holds First Orientation for the Class of 2026 Freshmen of the College of Liberal Studies

Pukyong National University (President Bae Sang-Hoon) held an orientation for the College of Liberal Studies for the 2026 academic year on January 20 at venues including the University Theater and Pukyong Convention Hall.
The College of Liberal Studies allows freshmen to enroll without declaring a major and to freely choose their majors starting in their sophomore year according to their individual career aspirations. Established for the first time in the 2025 academic year, the college admitted its second cohort this year, selecting approximately 900 students.
Hosted by the College of Liberal Studies Guidance Center, the event brought together about 600 participants, including freshmen and mentors. The program featured an introduction to the college, guidance on academic systems and university life, introductions to faculty advisors, overviews of support programs, a campus tour, rapport-building activities, and course registration advising to help students prepare for their first steps in university life.
In particular, upperclass students from last year’s College of Liberal Studies cohort participated as mentors, offering first-hand guidance on major exploration and practical tips for university life to incoming freshmen. This was followed by a special lecture in which senior students shared vivid, real-life experiences through presentations reflecting on their year-long journey of exploring academic majors.
Choi Ho-Seok, Dean of the College, stated, “We hope this orientation marks an enjoyable and meaningful beginning to university life for College of Liberal Studies students.
