PKNU receives trade education certification for the first time nationwide.
From Accreditation Board for Trade Education of Korea (ABTEK) --- Graduates of the Division of International Commerce will be given preference when finding employment.
The Division of International Commerce at Pukyong National University (PKNU) received Trade Education Certification from ABTEK on 13th.
In this new trade education certification scheme, PKNU and three other universities (Kangwon University, Soongsil University, Konkuk University) were given the certification valid for 5 years. The Trade Education Certification scheme is designed to access and certify trade education in universities in order to increase the quality of trade education. Accordingly, graduates from the certified divisions or departments are guaranteed to have received the quality trade education resulting in receiving preference from employers.
ABTEK accessed participating universities with 5 criteria for trade education certification which are Education Objectives and Development Plan, Education Capability, Education Conditions and Support System, and Education Result.
ABTEK is the first certification and assessment agency for training trade specialists in Korea and it is targeting trade related divisions and departments in universities.
Prior to this, PKNU received Engineering Education Certification for the first time in national universities in 2002, and 5-year Construction Engineering Certification in 2008, which is first in Busan and GyeongNam, and Management Education Certification last August, which is also first in Busan.<Translator ; Park Si Hyeong, heartfulmind@naver.com>
