PKNU won an award in the organization cutting down their budget by the Minister of the ministry of Education, Science, and Technology
The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology rated PKNU highly as excellent organization which means that PKNU used its budget efficiently in 2010.
PKNU donated the cash prize of one million won to ‘ssaldok of love’.
PKNU was selected for an excellent organization for the assessment which was conducted to look for the best organization running its budget economically by the ministry of Education, Science, and Technology because PKNU had managed its budget efficiently.
PKNU improved the existed system by making each income institutions have to pay the common cost to reduce financial burden. As a result, PKNU had an effect to cut down the operating expenditure in the administration 5%, each college 10%.
In addition, PKNU improved existed way of the purchase system. Under the system, all departments in PKNU should buy required supplies separately in the past. After that, by changing the system buying the needed supplies together, PKNU had had an effect to reduce about 15% of the spending on the essentially required supplies.
PKNU was very highly rated for conducting assessment of the used budget, driving energy conservation, improving the existed way of the purchase system for essentially needed items, using its human resources, counseling students about their future, undertaking the business popularizing LED lightings in the public buildings, performing the competitive contracts, and so on to strive to decrease its budgets.
No Gyu Beom, the financial affairs, said. "Because of efforts of the all members in the PKNU to decrease our budget, I think this award was given."Also, "We will continue striving to get a satisfying results for increasing the efficiency of the work and saving money.” he added.
Meanwhile, PKNU decided to spend its cash prize of one million won on donating to the ‘ssaldok of love’ which has been operating by PKNU to help the poor. <Pukyong Today>
