On the morning of 10th, an old gentleman delivered a 20 million won cashier 's check to the department of External Cooperation on the PKNU' s 6th floor and said like this.

"While I was packing my bags to immigrate to the US, the debts to my alma mater has been on my mind, so I came here to pay off it and leave the country." He donated it as a development fund.

What is the debt he said?

The alumnus Shin said, "I heard that there is nothing to worry about eating and living if I work on a ship, so I decided to enter the National Fisheries University of Busan (former PKNU). At the time, I was able to enter first and study with a scholarship from the 250 freshmen. "

He graduated from college, and from 1964 he spent 10 years on a deep-sea fishing boat, swept the Pacific Ocean, the Indian Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean. From 1974 to 1975, he worked as an African expatriate in Taechang Fisheries in Ghana's port city theme. Since 1975, he has lived with sea as a member of Taechang Fisheries for 20 years, serving as a Japanese tuna export business.

"I cannot forget the gratitude of my alma mater, who has been able to study with scholarships in times of hunger. And I was able to build up my life with the knowledge and experiences I had learned at the time. "

He said that he would leave Korea soon to live with his daughters in the United States. "I wish the juniors those who study in a difficult environment like me could have the power with hope ."

PKNU plans to use the fund as a scholarship for students those who study hard in a financial difficulty. <Pukyong Today>
