"We donate 8,622 coins collected for 10 years to our neighbors" Pukyong National University's student dormitory collected coins for 10 years and donated 200 kg of rice to the neighborhood and the news warmed the hearts of people around. Seo Jae-ho, a professor (Dept. of Public Administration and a dormitory director of Pukyong National University), and the student association donated 200 kg of rice to the "Love Jar” on May 22, which the university runs for the rice donation. With 100,000 won donated by dormitory director Seo Jae-ho and with 404,460 won collected in collection box which was installed in front of security office of the 1st floor of Sejong bldg.1, Pukyong National University's student dormitory purchased rice with the donated money and delivered it on that day. The coin collector, which was established in 2009 and operated for 10 years by Pukyong National University, was installed to collect and donate the coins that were found while cleaning the Sejong bldg. 1.
There were 8,622 coins collected. 108 for 500 won coin, 1,748 for 100 won, and 1,050 for 50 won. The number of 10 won coin was 5,716. There were three 5,000 won bills and fifty-one 1000 won bills. Seo Jae-ho, the dormitory director, said, "The warm-hearts of many students who showed even the smallest gesture of kindness was impressive to both students and students. I hope that the students' minds are well delivered to their neighbors and help them out a little." The students in dormitory who watched the coin collection box, went in front of it and started to put one or two of the coins in the pocket. After 10 years, much more coins collected than expected.
