            Pukyong National University (President Kim Young-seup) held a degree conferment ceremony in February 2020 at Somin Hall on the 2nd floor of the Mirae building.
Pukyong National University has greatly reduced the size of the degree conferment ceremony due to the recent spread of Corona19, canceling the bachelor’s and master’s degree awards and proceeding with the doctoral degree only on that day.
There are 3,103 graduates of February in Pukyong National University, including 90 doctoral doctors, 231 masters and 2,782 bachelor’s degrees.
Pukyong National University, while minimizing attendance at the event, only the university president Kim Young-seop and the graduate school president Kim Sang-bong attended the conferment ceremony to award the degree to 37 of the Ph.D. candidates who attended the ceremony.
Pukyong National University worked towards preventing corona19 by wearing masks, washing hands, checking fever and handling quarantine activities in the venue before and after the event.
Due to the reduction of the conferment ceremony, Pukyong National University also separately delivered the undergraduate graduation rewards that were given each year.
Ha Bit-nah (Combined Department of Environmental Engineering), a graduate of outstanding achievements, received the President’s Award, Lee Kyeong-won (Department of Food Science & Technology) received the Chairman’s Award of National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives (Suhyup), Choi Ji-won (Department of Statistics) received the Chairman’s of Pukyong National University Alumni Association, Lee Jong-ha (Department of Public Administration) received Mayor’s award of Busan Metropolitan, Kim Do-rim (Division of Marine Production System Management) received minister’s award of Mistry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF), and Lee Nah-yeon (Department of Spatial Information Engineering) received Commander’s award from Naval Education  Training Command.
President Kim Young-seup stressed at the ceremony, “We are experiencing more than ever the fact that the world is one through the epidemic of Corona19. We are witnessing that the world is more open than we think, is intimately influenced and closely connected each other.”
President Kim told "I hope that after finishing a long time of academic study at university, you will be the first person in society today and become a key person in solving the problems of the world, including the problems of our society, beyond your own problems." <Pukyong Today>
