문재인 대통령, 김영섭 총장 등 국립대 총장 24명과 오찬 간담회 문 대통령은 이날 오후 12시부터 1시간 30분 동안 진행된 간담회에서 “국립대학이 지역혁신의 거점이 되어 달라.”며, 미래 융합형 교육과 인재양성의 필요성, 소재·부품 등 원천기술 확보의 중요성 등을 강조했다. 한국대학신문에 따르면, 이날 문 대통령은 “‘모든 지역의 혁신은 지역 국립대로부터 시작된다’라는 것을 지역민들이 확실히 체감할 수 있도록 보다 활발하고, 적극적인 역할을 해주시기 바란다.”면서, “지역 국립대와 지자체가 중심이 되고, 지역사회와 지역 산업계가 협력할 때 지역 혁신도 가능하다. 또 지역이 필요로 하는 지역 인재 양성도 가능하고, 국가 균형발전도 가능하다고 생각한다. 지역의 혁신들이 모두 모인, 더해지는 총합이 대한민국의 혁신을 만드는 것이라고 생각한다. 그 점에서 지역 국립대들이 정부와 동반자 관계로 함께 노력해 나가자”고 강조했다. 김영섭 부경대 총장은 이날 간담회에서 전국국·공립대총장협의회 회장으로서 모두발언을 했다. 김 총장은 “전국의 40개 국립대학은 정부의 국립대육성정책에 따라 지역균형발전과 지역혁신의 중심체로써의 역할은 물론 글로벌 명문대학으로 성장하기 위해 노력하고 있으며, 큰 책무성을 느끼고 있다.”고 밝혔다. 김 총장은 이어 “지금은 대학, 기업, 공공기관, 지자체가 모두 함께 뛰는 ‘지자체-대학 협력기반 지역혁신사업’에 국립대학이 플랫폼 역할을 다하기 위한 정책을 수립하고 있다.”면서, “국립대 플랫폼사업을 통해 4차 산업은 물론이고 극일의 핵심키워드가 되고 있는 부품소재산업발전에 필요한 핵심인력양성과 기초과학기술연구력을 획기적으로 높이는 계기가 되도록 최선을 다해나가겠다.”고 밝혔다. 한편 이날 오찬 간담회에는 김영섭 총장을 비롯, 반선섭 강릉원주대 총장, 김헌영 강원대 총장, 김남경 경남과학기술대 총장, 김상동 경북대 총장, 이상경 경상대 총장, 원성수 공주대 총장, 곽병선 군산대 총장, 이상철 금오공대 총장, 박민서 목포대 총장, 박성현 목포해양대 총장, 전호환 부산대 총장, 김종호 서울과학기술대 총장, 오세정 서울대 총장, 고영진 순천대 총장, 권순태 안동대 총장, 조동성 인천대 총장, 정병석 전남대 총장, 송석언 제주대 총장, 오덕성 충남대 총장, 임태희 한경대 총장, 박준훈 한국교통대 총장, 류수노 한국방송통신대 총장, 최병욱 한밭대 총장 등이 참석했다. ▷ 관련 기사 읽기 “클릭!!” President Moon Jae-in held a luncheon meeting at the Blue House Main Building on the 22th of August with 24 Presidents of the National University, including Pukyong National University's President Kim Young-seup, who is chairman of the National and Public University Presidents' Councils.
