최완현 동문, 
해양수산분야 유일 국립연구기관 ‘총사령관’으로
- 부경대 수산경영학과 84학번 … 해수부 두루 거친 수산분야 전문가

부경대학교 최완현 동문(수산경영학과 84학번)이 18일 실시된 해양수산부 실·국장급 인사에서  국립수산과학원장에 선임됐다. 임기는 2021년 9월까지 2년이다.

최 동문은 그동안 해양수산부 수산정책실장을 맡아 활약해왔다.

국립수산과학원은 우리나라 해양수산분야를 연구하는 유일한 국립연구기관으로 연근해 및 원양 수산자원관리, 양식기술개발, 어장환경조사, 수산공학기술 개발, 수산생물방역 등의 업무를 담당하고 있다.

최근에는 FTA 등 시장개방 확대, 기후변화 및 수산자원변동 등에 대비하기 위하여 수출전략품목 육성 지원, 수산물의 안전성 확보 등 수산정책과 연계되는 사업을 적극 수행 중이다.

최 신임 원장은 1981년 부산공업고등학교를 졸업하고 부경대 전신 부산수산대 수산경영학과를 1991년 졸업했다. 부경대 수산해양학 석사학위를 받았으며 해양수산경영학 박사를 수료했다.

최 신임 원장은 1995년 제30회 기술고등고시 출신의 수산분야 전문행정가이다. 해양수산부 해양환경발전팀장, 대통령 비서실 농어촌행정관, 농림수산식품부 양식산업과장, 수산개발과장, 장관비서관, 수산정책과장 등을 거쳤다. 이어 해양수산부 수산정책과장, 국제원양정책관, 어업자원정책관, 수산정책관, 어업자원정책관, 수산정책실장 등을 두루 역임했다.

Enrolled year 84, Department of Marine Business & Economics of PKNU ... A fisheries expert through Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries

Choi Wan-hyun (Enrolled year84, Dept. of Marine Business & Economics), alumnus of Pukyong National University, was appointed president of the National Institute of Fisheries Science from the Director-General of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. The term of office is two years until September 2021.

Choi Wan-hyeon has served as the head of the Fisheries Policy Department of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.

The National Institute of Fisheries Science is the only national research institute that researches marine fisheries in Korea, and is in charge of offshore and ocean fisheries resource management, aquaculture technology development, fisheries environmental investigation, fisheries engineering technology development, and fisheries biological protection.

Recently, in preparation for expansion of market opening such as FTA, climate change and fisheries resource change, the research institute is actively carrying out projects related to fisheries policy such as support of export strategic product development and securing of safety of fishery products.

Mr.Choi, the new president graduated from Busan Technical High School in 1981 and graduated from the Department of Marine Business & Economics, National Fisheries University in Busan (Present Pukyong National University) in 1991. He holds a master’s degree in Fisheries and Oceanography from Pukyong National University and a Ph.D. in Marine Business & Economics.

The new president Choi is a specialist in Fisheries from the 30th Higher National Diploma in 1995. He has been working through the Marine Environment Development Team, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, President of the Rural Affairs and Fisheries Administration, the Minister of Food and Agriculture, the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the Minister of Fisheries Development, and the Minister of Fisheries Policy. He also served as Director of Fisheries Policy, Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Director of International Maritime Policy, Fisheries Resources Policy, Fisheries Policy, Fisheries Resources, and Director of Fisheries Policy.
