봉사단 대표 박동민 씨(기계자동차공학과 4학년) 등 52명의 학생들은 16일까지 남구 용호 4동 청각장애인인 최모씨 집 등 불우이웃 5곳과 다문화가정아동쉼터, 새빛기독보육원, 동산원 등 사회복지시설을 방문해 헌집수리 봉사를 펼친다. 이들은 5개조로 나뉘어 전문기술자들을 도와 헌집의 도배, 장판설치, 누수창틀 및 형광등 교체, 모기장설치, 내․외부 페인트칠, 대청소 등을 실시한다. 학생들은 사회복지시설에서는 낡은 놀이기구 보수, 화단 제초작업, 컴퓨터 수리, 아동과 함께 운동하기 등을 통해 불우아동을 돌보는 봉사활동을 한다. 이번 봉사활동에는 부산 남구청도 사회복지사 파견, 이동차량과 청소용구, 쓰레기봉투 지원 등으로 참여한다. 대표 박동민 씨는 “봉사활동을 준비하면서 우리 주위에 자활능력이 없고 주거환경이 열악한 이웃이 아직도 많다는 것을 알게 됐다.”면서, “지역사회에 사랑과 희망의 열매를 나누어 주기 위해 헌신적으로 봉사활동을 실천하겠다.”고 다짐했다. 한편 부경대 학생, 교직원 등으로 구성된 이 봉사단은 이웃사랑을 적극 실천하고 지역사회와의 유대를 강화하기 위해 지난 2006년 처음 출범해 해마다 여름방학 때 헌집수리 봉사활동을 펴고 있다.<부경투데이> The welcoming ceremony for PKNU eco-volunteer workers was held in the conference room on the 7th floor of the administration building in Daeyeon campus in PKNU which president is Park Maeng Eon on July 13th at 10:30. After that, they stared to do voluntary service for 4 days. The representative of this volunteer organization, Park Dong Min who is in his 4th year of the department of mechanical and automotive engineering, visited 5 needy neighbors’ houses including a hearing-impaired person’s house which are located in Yongho 4-dong, Nam-gu and the social welfare organizations including child welfare institution with 52 students. They helped to repair the facilities until July 16th. This volunteer organization was divided into 5 small groups, and each small group hung new wallpapers, laid the new linoleum, changed the old windows and the fluorescent tubes, put up a mosquito net, painted inside and outside of the old houses, and did a big cleanup with the technical experts. Moreover, these groups repaired the old rides and broken computers, and completed weeding in the garden in the social welfare facilities. In addition, the students helped children to exercise. Busan Nam-gu District Office helped PKNU eco-volunteer works by sending the social workers, the moving-vehicles, the cleaning equipments, and the garbage bags. The representative of this volunteer organization, Park Dong Min, spoke as follows. “I realized that there are many needy neighbors around us. From now on, I will do volunteer work devotedly to give a love and the fruit of the hope to a local community.” Meanwhile, PKNU eco- volunteer workers which are comprised of PKNU students and faculty have done volunteer work such as repairing the old houses which is a kind of the Habitat of Humanity to show a neighborly love, and to have close links with a local community every summer vacation since 2006. <Pukyong Today> <translator; Park Ha Won, dhzl0121@naver.com> |
