양 대학은 이날 공동발전 선언문을 통하여 “대학을 둘러싼 국내외 교육환경변화에 적극 대처하고 대학 구조개혁 등 국가·사회적 요구에 부응하면서 미래지향적 상생발전을 통해 글로벌 100대 명문대학으로 도약하는 방안을 강구하는 등 구체적인 공동노력을 전개한다”고 밝혔다. 이에 따라 양 대학은 동일 권역에 위치한 국립대학으로서 ▲새로운 대학 모델의 정립을 통한 구조개혁 방안 ▲창의성과 리더십을 겸비한 양질의 고급전문인력 양성을 위한 교육역량 강화 방안 ▲글로벌 연구 경쟁력을 확보하기 위한 협력시스템 구축 및 대학의 국제화 등을 통한 연구력 향상방안을 집중적으로 연구하게 된다. 특히 양 대학은 인문·기초과학 등 보호학문의 발전을 도모하고 해양과학기술을 비롯한 국가 및 지역 전략산업 육성을 위한 산․학․연 협력 강화 방안을 강구하게 된다. 또한, 양 대학의 역량 결집을 통한 시너지효과 극대화로 지역사회의 미래 발전방안도 모색키로 했다. 특히 양 대학은 공동발전 방안을 심도 있게 연구하기 위해 조만간 대학별로 태스크포스팀을 구성·운영하기로 함에 따라 실질적인 발전방안이 도출될 것으로 기대된다. 연구 결과가 나오면 대학 구성원, 동문, 지역사회의 의견을 수렴한 뒤 동남권의 발전을 견인하는 명실상부한 거대국립대학으로의 도약을 위해 구체적 실행 노력을 가시화 할 것으로 보인다. 박맹언 부경대 총장과 김인세 부산대총장은 “부산은 우리나라 제2의 도시임에도 불구하고 대학의 위상은 그에 따르지 못했던 것이 사실”이라며 “향후 양 대학의 협력을 발판으로 글로벌 경쟁력을 지니는 새로운 모델의 국립대학을 탄생시켜 동남권은 물론 국가 발전의 싱크탱크 역할을 확실하게 수행할 수 있기를 기대한다”고 밝혔다.<부경투데이> PKNU made an agreement with PNU (Pusan National University) on the first meeting room of the Administration Building in PNU on August 11th. There were the presidents of each university and some high-ranking officials working at each university. They selected 5 important tasks including the research about the structural reform to make a win-win situation. Through the agreement, both of the universities are going to try to deal with the educational environment of inside and outside the country including the structural reform of the university in many ways because it can be changed easily. In addition, they will strive to find the way to be one of the prestigious universities in the world by meeting the needs of the country and the society. Therefore, both of the universities are going to come up with an effective plan for the structural reform of the university to make a new role model for the other universities as a national university in the same area. Besides, they are going to prepare the means to reinforce the educational abilities by fostering the high-quality human resources who have creativity and leadership. Moreover, they are going to focus on building a cooperative system and internationalization of the university to secure the competitiveness in the global market. Especially, PKNU and PNU will try to develop the field of humanities and basic science. In addition, they are going to look for some means to reinforce the cooperation with industry, university, and institute to promote the national and local businesses including the field of marine science and technology. Furthermore, they will strive to find the way to develop the future local community by making synergy effect through the unity of two universities. It is also expected that both of the universities can come up with the practical measures by organizing and running a task force to research the way to develop the local community together professionally. Once the result of research work is published, after gathering the opinions of the members of the universities, alumni, and the members of the community, they are going to realize the specific plans to make a huge national university which will be able to lead the south part of Korea to the important area. The president of PKNU, Park Maeng Eon and the president of PNU, Kim In Se spoke as follows. “Even if Busan is the second important city in Korea, it is true that the reputation of the universities in Busan is not higher than expected.
