부경대학교 졸업생인 김윤이 동문(24)이 전국에서 2명을 뽑은 올해 5급 ‘기술고등고시’에 최종 합격했다.

그는 최근 발표된 2012년도 국가공무원 5급(기술) 공개경쟁채용시험 최종 합격자 77명 가운데 해양수산직렬에 합격자로 이름을 올린 것. 해양수산직렬 합격자는 그를 포함 단 2명이었다.

‘수산 기술고등고시’로 불릴 정도로 경쟁이 치열한 이 시험의 합격자는 5급(사무관) 공무원으로서 우리나라 수산해양 행정을 이끌게 된다.

지난 2월 부경대 수산생명의학과를 졸업한 김 동문은 2011년 이 시험에 처음 도전, 3차 면접에서 아쉽게 탈락했으나 이에 굴하지 않고 올해 다시 도전, 합격의 영광을 안았다. 

그는 “부경대에 수산생물학을 비롯 수산해양학, 수산경영학, 수산양식학 등 해양수산직렬 시험과목이 전공과목으로 모두 개설돼 있어 시험 준비에 큰 도움이 됐다.”고 말했다. 그는 “이 전공수업을 모두 수강하면서 모르는 부문은 교수님 방을 직접 찾아가서 문제를 해결했던 것이 합격에 주효했던 것 같다.”고 말했다.

그는 “앞으로 우리나라 양식분야 등 수산산업을 첨단화하여 세계적인 수준으로 끌어올리는 데 기여할 수 있는 전문성을 갖춘 공무원이 되겠다.”며 포부를 밝혔다.

한편, 부경대는 1972년 기술고등고시(현재의 5급 공채시험)에 수산직이 신설된 이후 지금까지 모두 34명의 합격자를 배출하는 등 수산분야 공무원 산실로 주목받고 있다.<부경투데이>

"I want to be a good official who improves the fishing industry"
- Yoonee Kim passed the 5th grade of technology examination in the field of maritime affairs and fisheries.

Yoonee Kim (24), who graduated from Pukyong University, passed the higher technology examination which has only two vacancies.

He listed his name as one of the 77 successful candidates of the 2012 National Official Examination, and only two people in maritime affairs and fisheries passed the exam.

This exam is known as a tough fisheries higher technology examination because it is very competitive. As a result of passing the exam, Kim will lead the maritime affairs and fisheries administration as a national official.

Kim graduated from the Maritime Life Medication Department of PKNU last February and attempted the exam for the first time last year but he was unsuccessful. He didn't give up and tried again, and he eventually made it.

"All of the classes were related to the examination, such as maritime biology, management, thremmatology, and it was extremely helpful to study for the exam. The most important thing to get this result was visiting all the professors whenever I had questions while I was taking classes," he said.

He mentioned that he wanted to be a leading official to develop professionalism of the domestic fisheries technology up to the world level.

Meanwhile, PKNU is improving their reputation in the maritime field due to their training of 34 officials since the first vacancy opened in 1972.<Pukyong Today>
