의대 없는 대학을 별도로 평가한 이유는 학과 특성상 의대는 다른 단과대에 비해 연구 논문이 많이 발표되고 교원 수도 많아 의대를 보유한 대학은 상대적으로 높은 점수를 받을 수 있기 때문이다. 13일 발표된 ‘조선일보·QS 아시아 대학 평가’에 따르면 부경대는 의대 없는 대규모 종합대학(학생 수 1만2000명 이상)에서 국내 3위, 아시아 63위에 랭크됐다. 조선일보에 따르면, ‘조선일보·QS 아시아 대학평가’의 지표는 4개 영역 9개 지표이다. 4개 영역은 △연구 영역(60%) △교육 여건(20%) △졸업생 평판도(10%) △국제화 영역(10%) 등으로 구분된다. 연구 영역은 학계 평가와 교원당 논문 수, 논문당 피인용 수 등 3개 지표로 이루어져 있다. 조선일보는 13일자 기사에서 “올해 학계 평가는 전 세계 학자 4만3370명에게 이메일을 보내 ‘본인의 전공 분야에서 탁월한 연구 실적을 보인 대학을 꼽아 달라’는 온라인 인터뷰로 진행했다.”고 밝혔다. 교원당 논문 및 논문 피인용 수는 논문 DB 스코푸스에 등재된 논문을 분석했다고 한다. 한편 부경대는 지난 2일 국제논문을 기준으로 세계 대학을 평가한 라이덴 랭킹(Leiden Ranking)에서는 생명과학분야 국내 대학 1위를 기록했다. 아시아지역 대학 중에서는 5위였다. 라이덴 랭킹은 네덜란드 라이덴 대학 과학기술연구소가 2009∼2012년까지 4년간 모두 1,000편 이상의 논문을 발표한 세계 상위 750개 대학(국내 26개 대학) 논문 중 가장 많이 인용된 상위 10% 논문 비율을 조사한 결과다. 논문 인용 횟수가 평가 기준이기 때문에 대학 교수들의 연구의 질을 보다 객관적이고 정확하게 평가한다는 인정을 받고 있다.<부경투데이> Pukyong National University(President Kim Young Seop) ranked third among domestic universities without medical college in 2014 University Assessment of Asia The universities without medical college were assessed separately because they have bigger faculty and more research paper is presented, which helps the medical college gain relatively higher scores compared to other colleges. Chosun Ilbo said that “the academic assessment this year was proceeded through online interviews by sending e-mails to scholars all around the world and asking them to choose universities showing outstanding researching results in the field of their majors in the article on 13th. They also said that they analyzed thesis registered in Thesis DB Scopus on the amount of thesis by the faculty, and the number of the thesis being quoted Meanwhile, Pukyong National University ranked the 1st among domestic universities in life science area of Leiden Ranking and the 5th in Asia. Leiden Ranking is the result achieved from researching thesis in the high 10% quoted most among those of 750 high universities all over the world (26 universities domestically) having presented more than 1,000 thesis for 4years from 2009 to 2012 by the Science and Technology Institute of Leiden University in Netherlands. Because the standard of assessment is only about the number of the thesis being quoted, the ranking has been recognized as an objective and accurate measuring system on the quality of faculty’s thesis.<Pukyong today> |
