부경대학교가 부산서 처음으로 기술경영(MOT: Management Of Technology)전문대학원을 설립 운영한다.
‘이공계의 MBA’로 불리는 기술경영전문대학원은 공학기반의 경영능력을 겸비한 전문인력을 양성하는 대학원을 말한다.
부경대는 교육부로부터 기술경영전문대학원 설립 인가를 받아 오는 11월 16일부터 석‧박사 신입생을 모집한다고 발표했다.
부경대는 동남권에서는 유일하게 2011년부터 산업통상자원부 주관 기술경영 일반대학원 지원사업에 선정돼 기술경영 협동과정을 운영해 왔다.
이번 전문대학원 설립은 부경대가 올해 산업통상자원부 주관 기술경영 전문대학원 사업에 선정된 데 따른 것이다.
이에 따라 부경대는 5년간 매년 7억 원씩 국비를 지원받아 전문대학원 운영에 투입, 보다 심화된 기술경영 교육과정을 운영할 수 있게 됐다.
이 전문대학원은 총정원 100명 규모로 석‧박사 학위과정을 두며, 소정의 교육과정을 이수한 학생에게 기술경영 전문석사 및 박사 학위를 수여한다.

부경대는 이 전문대학원을 통해 현장밀착형 기술경영 지역전문가를 배출해 기업들의 R&D 전략기획 및 기술사업화에 필요한 인력 수요에 부응한다는 전략이다.
이를 위해 부경대의 전임교원뿐만 아니라 산업체 등에서 우수 겸임 및 초빙교원을 추가 확보하여, 4가지 트랙으로 교과과정을 운영한다.
4가지 트랙은 △MOT개론 등을 교육하는 공통과정, △기술기획 등을 교육하는 기술기획‧획득과정 △기술원가 등을 교육하는 기술금융‧사업화과정 △ICT기술정책 등을 교육하는 I-MOTION특화과정으로 구성된다.
전문대학원 개원을 준비해온 부경대 옥영석 교수(시스템경영공학부)는 “기업들의 MOT 기반의 기술혁신 전문인력에 대한 수요가 갈수록 늘고 있다.”면서, “부산연구개발특구 등 기술경영분야에서 특화된 우리 대학의 교육 인프라를 적극 활용해 지역산업발전을 이끌 MOT 인재양성에 최선을 다하겠다.”고 밝혔다.<부경투데이>

- PKNU establishes the first advanced graduate school of Management of Technology (MOT) in Busan
The Pukyong National University is to establish and operate Specialized Graduate School of Management of Technology for the first time in Busan.
The Specialized Graduate School of MOT aims to cultivate leaders and experts with engineering-based management capacity.
The University was approved the establishment of the specialized school by Ministry of Education, and announced admission plan for graduate and PhD students beginning on 16 November.
PKNU is the only university in the Southeast region that has provided curriculum for the graduate school of MOT since 2011 after it was selected for the Government Support Program by Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and this time the University has also been chosen by the same ministry to carry on and improve the business.
In turn, PKNU is capable of operating advanced education program in MOT with yearly support of the government expenditure of 0.7 billion won for 5 years.
The Specialized Graduate School of MOT admits 100 yearly applicants, and the Masters’ and Doctors’ Degree in Management of Technology will be granted to the students who complete the curriculum.
The University aims to produce academically and professionally qualified individuals to meet the needs of companies for their R&D strategy and technical commercialization.
In regard to that, with the faculty of PKNU as well as recognized affiliated and visiting professors from other institutes, the University runs four tracks of curriculum: common curriculum including an introduction to MOT, technology planning and acquisition, financing and commercialization of technology including variable cost, and I-MOTION specialization for ICT technology policy.
Professor Ock Young-seok (Division of Systems Management and Engineering) who has prepared for the opening of the special school said, “There has been increasing needs of MOT-based professional manpower from the market.
