부경대학교 대연캠퍼스에 대규모 융복합공학관이 들어선다. 부경대는 30일 오후 2시 대연캠퍼스 백경동산 옆 부지에서 김영섭 총장 등이 참석한 가운데 융복합공학관 신축공사 기공식을 가졌다.
부경대는 연면적 16,500㎡ 지하 1층 지상 13층 규모의 융복합공학관을 오는 2018년 6월 완공한다. 이 공학관이 완공되면 현재 용당캠퍼스에 있는 공과대학 11개 학과들이 모두 이곳으로 이사하게 된다.
융복합공학관 신축은 부경대가 대학 경쟁력 강화를 위해 대연캠퍼스를 교육·연구중심 캠퍼스로, 용당캠퍼스를 산학연 혁신캠퍼스로 특성화하는 계획에 따른 것이다. 용당캠퍼스의 공과대학 20개 학과 중 9개 학과는 이미 대연캠퍼스로 이전했다.
새로 들어설 융복합공학관에는 3층부터 13층까지 연구실과 강의실, 세미나실 등이 배치된다. 1층은 북카페, 상담센터 등 학생복지시설 공간으로, 2층은 행정공간으로 조성된다. 학술세미나 등 내·외부 행사와 체육활동을 할 수 있는 다목적홀도 3층에 들어선다.
부경대는 융복합공학관 바로 옆에 190억 원을 들여 실험·실습동(8,000㎡)을 2018년 완공해 공과대학 이전사업을 마무리한다.
한편 교육·연구 중심으로 특화되는 대연캠퍼스에는 지방 최초의 행복(연합)기숙사 등 2,600명을 추가로 수용할 2건의 대형 학생생활관 신축공사가 진행 중이며, 직장어린이집과 스포츠콤플렉스 등 교육 인프라 확충사업이 활발하게 진행되고 있다.
부산연구개발특구이자 영남권 유일의 신기술창업집적지역으로 지정된 용당캠퍼스에는 현재 200여개 기업들이 입주해 있다. 부경대는 부산시와 함께 용당캠퍼스를 부산지역 경제와 산업 고도화할 대학 산학연 연구단지(URP)로 조성해 글로벌 강소기업들을 키워낼 계획이다.<부경투데이>

- A new Convergence Engineering Building is to be constructed by 2018
A large Convergence Engineering Building is to be built at Daeyeon Campus of Pukyong National University. The groundbreaking ceremony of the building was held at the site beside Baekyeong Hill at 14.00 on 30 November 2015 with the attendance of President Kim Young-seup.
After the 16,500㎡ building with thirteen stories above ground and one below is completed in June 2018, eleven departments of College of Engineering in Yongdang Campus will move to the building in Daeyeon Campus.
The construction is a part of plan to reinforce the competitiveness of the University by characterizing Daeyeon Campus as an area of education and research and Yongdang Campus as an area of Association of University, Research Institute and Industry. Nine of twenty departments of College of Engineering already changed their address to Daeyeon Campus.
The new building will house laboratories, lecture rooms and seminar rooms on floors 3-13, student community area such as book-café and counseling office on the first floor, and administration on the second floor. A multi-purpose hall for events and sports activities will also be located on the third floor.
Right beside the Convergence Engineering Building, the University will construct another 8,000㎡ building for experiment and practice with budget of 19 billion won by 2018 to finish relocation of the College of Engineering.
Meanwhile, new construction of two dormitories that can accommodate 2,600 more students is currently underway at Daeyeon Campus. Project on expansion of education infrastructure through providing day care center and sports complex is also actively ongoing.
Yongdang Campus was designated as INNOPOLIC Busan as well as the only Start-up Area of New Technology in Yeongnam region, and about 200 companies are currently situated in. The University is planning to develop Yongdang campus as the University Research Park (URP) that can accelerate the industry and economy in Busan region to promote “small but strong” global businesses. <Pukyong Today>
