기장 사람들의 삶을 인문학으로 새롭게 디자인하려는 시도가 눈길을 끌고 있다.
부경대학교는 8일 기장군민들의 삶의 질을 높이기 위한 인문학 사업인 ‘미래를 준비하는 기장, 역사 속 옛길에서 답을 찾다’(책임교수 채영희·국어국문학과·사진)가 한국연구재단 주관 인문도시지원사업에 선정됐다고 밝혔다.
부산 전체 면적의 1/3을 차지하는 기장군은 정관신도시 조성에 따른 급격한 인구유입으로 토착민과 이주민, 농촌과 도시의 문화·경제적 차이로 지역사회 유대관계 강화노력이 필요하다는 지적이 제기되어 왔다.
부경대는 이 같은 기장군의 현안 해결을 돕기 위해 이번 인문도시지원사업에서 기장군에 남아있는 옛길의 의미를 복원하는 다양한 노력을 시도, 기장 사람들에게 삶터의 역사·문화적 정체성 발견 및 일체감 조성으로 소통과 화합을 모색한다.
이를 위해 부경대는 향후 3년 간 모두 6억 원(한국연구재단 및 기장군 각 3억 원)을 투입, 강좌와 체험활동, 축제 등 다양한 인문교육 프로그램을 마련한다.
강좌로는 △유아와 부모를 대상으로 한 새싹인문학교실, △중고등학생들을 위한 학교 밖 청소년 인문학교실, 학교로 가는 청소년 인문학교실, △성인 대상의 기장인문대학 등의 프로그램이 펼쳐진다.
체험프로그램으로는 △포구길, 암행어사길, 보부상길, 등대길 등을 찾아가는 ‘옛길따라’, △어부길, 선인길, 도예길 등을 탐험하는 ‘길에서 찾는 모험’ 등의 행사가 진행된다.
축제로는 △옛길 가치와 기장 인물 및 인생탐구로 구성될 ‘기장학 3인3색 콘서트’, △해녀와 사할린동포, 별신굿무녀가 참여할 ‘인문학 토크콘서트’, △실크로드·열하일기·서유견문록에 대한 특강으로 진행될 ‘인문학 아카데미’, △기장의 문화·인물·역사자원을 활용한 ‘인문학 모바일영화제’ 등이 펼쳐진다.
이 사업 운영에는 부경대평생교육원, 해운대교육지원청, 기장종합사회복지관, 기장문화원, 기장향토문화연구소, 정관박물관, 조선사기장연구회, 공수어촌계 등이 함께 참여한다.
채영희 교수는 “이번 사업을 통해 기장 사람들을 보다 행복한 삶의 길로 안내하고, 기장군을 보다 가치 있는 삶터로 만들기 위해 최선을 다할 것.”이라고 말했다.<부경투데이>

- Change the life of the people of Gijang with humanities
There is an outstanding effort going on to improve the life of the people of Gijang area through the humanities
On the 8th this month, Pukyong National University announced that a project name “Find the Answer of the Future on the Old Roads” was selected as one of the supporting business for city of the humanities by National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF). The project aims to enhance the quality of life of the people of Gijang-gun in relation to the humanities.
For Gijang-gun, one third of the entire Busan region, it has been pointed out that it needed to build stronger ties between the communities, since the area was going through drastic changes due to the rapid influx of the population to the Jeongwan Newtown, causing cultural and economic differences between local and new people, farmers and urbanites.
To help with this issue in line with the business by NRF, PKNU seeks communication and cooperation between the people of Gijang area by developing common historic and cultural identity and creating sense of unity through various efforts to restore the meaning of remaining roads in Gijang-gun.
PKNU is expected to be funded KRW 600 million, KRW 300 million each from the NRF and Gijang-gun, for the next three years to provide various humanities education programs, ranging from lecture to activity and festival, as follows:

This project is supported by the PKNU’s Lifelong Learning Center, Haeundae Office of Educataion, Gijang Social Welfare Center, Gijang Cultural Institute, Gijang Local Culture Research Center, Jeongwan Museum, Research Group of Pottery Official of Gijang, and Gongsu Fishing Village Society.
