17일 교육부와 한국연구재단은 부경대를 비롯 일반대 55개와 전문대 44개 등 전국 99개 대학을 링크플러스사업에 선정했다고 발표했다. 이 사업은 5년 동안 1조6,300억 원이 투입되는 정부 최대 규모 대학재정지원사업으로 올 한 해에만 무려 3,271억 원이 투입된다. 이에 따라 부경대는 오는 2022년 2월까지 연간 50억 원씩 총 250억 원 상당을 지원받아 대학의 비전과 여건 및 특성을 바탕으로 자율적 산학협력 모델을 구축, 기업수요에 맞춘 인재양성과 지역경제 발전을 견인하는 대학의 새로운 패러다임 창출에 나선다는 계획이다.
이를 통해 부경대는 신산학 캠퍼스 기반의 산학협력 선도대학 구축을 비롯, △사회친화형 산학협력 창의인재 양성을 통한 지속가능한 지역산업 생태계 조성, △세계로 웅비하는 산학협력과 창업의 드래곤밸리 창조, △대학과 기업이 동반 성장하는 혁신적·창의적인 산학협력 클러스터 구축, △특성화와 구조개혁을 통한 대학 경쟁력 강화 및 지역사회 기여 등의 목표를 실현할 계획이다. 특히 이번 사업선정으로 대연캠퍼스와 함께 2개의 캠퍼스를 가진 부경대가 33만 ㎡ 규모의 용당캠퍼스를 통째로 부·울·경 기업들에게 개방해 산학연 혁신캠퍼스로 만드는 사업인 드래곤밸리 구축사업이 한층 탄력을 받게 됐다. 현재 용당캠퍼스에는 창업보육센터, 부산창업지원센터, 산학연연구단지(URP)조성사업단 등이 들어섰고, 250여개 기업 700여명의 직원들이 상주하며 연간 300억 원의 매출을 올리고 있어 동남권역의 대표적인 산학협력·창업의 플랫폼으로 부상하고 있다. 서용철 단장은 “이번 사업을 통해 4차 산업혁명을 대비하는 인력양성, 대학 경쟁력 강화, 기업 및 지역사회와의 연계 등을 통해 미래 성장 동력을 창출하는 데 정성을 다할 것.”이라고 강조했다. 사업신청서를 낸 대학은 모두 전국 189개교(일반대 104개, 전문대 85개)였다. 선정과정에서 각 대학들은 1단계 포뮬러 평가, 2단계 사업계획서 평가, 3단계 사업관리위원회 심의·확정 등 치열한 경쟁을 펼쳤다. <부경투데이> Pukyong National University was selected as a leader in the development of university-affiliated university-affiliated universities (Link Plus, LINC +). Pukyong National University will build an industry-university cooperation university based on the new industrial campus, △ create a sustainable local industrial ecosystem by cultivating human resources in a society-friendly industrial-academic cooperation, △ create an industry-university cooperation and a dragon valley of establishment, Establishing innovative and creative industry-university cooperation clusters in which universities and companies will grow together, △ strengthening university competitiveness through specialization and structural reform, and contributing to the local. In particular, due to the selection of this project, PKNU, which has two campuses including Dae Yeon campus, has opened the 310,000 yard campus to BU.UL.GYEONG corporations as a whole. As a result, the establishment of the Dragon Valley project, which is an industry-academia-university innovation campus, has become more active. Suh Yong-cheol said, "Through this project, we will do our best to create future growth engines by nurturing manpower to prepare for the fourth industrial revolution, strengthening university competitiveness, and linking with companies and local communities."
