대연캠퍼스에는 모두 120여 마리의 고양이가 살고 있다고 한다. 부경대학교 동물 사랑 동아리 ‘동반’(회장 김진혁·공업화학과)의 관찰 결과다.
이 동아리의 활약상이 언론의 주목을 받고 있다.
부산일보는 지난 12월 22일자 32면 <2030>코너에 ‘캠퍼스 길냥이와 행복한 동행 … 동물愛 빠지다’는 제목의 10단 기사로 ‘동반’을 소개했다. 이 코너에는 매주 20~30대 지역 청년 동아리가 소개된다. 
에코버시티(Eco-versity)를 지향하는 부경대 학생들의 따뜻한 생명사랑 이야기가 이날 독자들의 가슴을 두드린 것.
‘동반’은 ‘동물에 반하다’의 준말, 동아리 회원 수는 110여명.

            이 기사는 “(‘동반’은) 매주 3차례 캠퍼스를 돌며 고양이에게 먹이를 준다.”면서, “‘동반’이 고양이에게 먹이를 주는 장소는 캠퍼스 내 9곳이다. 학생들은 3개 조로 나뉘어 30분간 먹이주기 활동을 한다.”고 소개했다.
기사는 “이들에게 부경대 대연캠퍼스 내에 (고양이가) 몇 마리나 살고 있냐고 물어봤다. 금세 대답이 돌아온다. 120마리라고.”라면서, 고양이 숫자뿐만 아니라 이들의 일거수일투족까지 꿰고 있는 ‘동반’ 학생들의 진한 동물사랑을 전했다.
기사는 “이 동아리 활동은 유기견 돌봄 활동에서 비롯됐다.”면서, “매달 한 번씩 경남 양산 유기동물센터를 방문해 자원봉사활동을 하고 있다. 매년 봄에 열리는 부산시 동물문화축제에도 단골로 참여해 시민에게 동물보호의 중요성을 알리고 있다.”고 활동상을 소개했다.
기사는 “이들은 간곡한 당부를 잊지 않는다.”면서 “동물을 함부로 만지거나 아무 음식이나 주지 말라는 부탁이다. 사람냄새가 나면 어미 고양이가 새끼를 외면하거나 해칠 수 있단다. 간을 한 음식은 고양이 건강을 해칠 수 잇다는 점도 강조한다.”고 전했다. <부경투데이>

            Club 'Dongban', "a happy companion with campus cats…Fell in love with the animal"

            - The Busan Ilbo, article dated on Dec,22, page 32, line 10, introduced their exceptional performances.
There are about 120 cats in the Daeyeon campus. It is the observation result of PKNU animal companion club 'Dongban' (Leader Kim Jin-hyuk, Department of Industrial Chemistry).
The activities of this club are receiving public attention.
The Busan Ilbo, on December 22nd, at the corner of the <2030> on page 32, introduced the club 'Dongban' with an 10-line article entitled 'a happy companion with campus cats…fell in love with the animal'. In this corner, youth community clubs in the 20~30s are introduced every week.
The warm-hearted love story of PKNU students who aimed for 'Eco-versity' tapped the reader's hearts on that day.
'Dongban' is abbreviations of 'be in love with animals', and there are about 110 club members.

            The article introduced, "('Dongban') feeds campus cats three times a week," and added "There are nine places on campus where 'Dongban' feed cats. The students are divided into three groups and serve for 30 minutes. "
"I asked them how many of cats are living in the Daeyeon campus. The answer comes back quickly. 120cats." Not only the number of cats, they observe every movements of cats. The articel delivers deep love for animals of the club members.
The article also introduced, "The club activity started from the care activities for abandoned dogs", and "We visit the Kyongnam Yangsan Animal Center once a month to volunteer. We also regularly participate in the annual Animal Culture Festival in Busan to inform citizens about the importance of animal care."
On the article, "They have asked us to be careful.", "Please do not touch the animal or give me any food. If mother cat smells person on their baby cat's body, the mother cat can turn off or harm her babies. It also emphasizes the fact that salted food can harm cat health." <Pukyong Today>
