어머니와 딸, 아들이 모두 같은 대학에 다니고 있는 가족의 사연이 주위의 관심을 받고 있다. 부경대학교에 공부 중인 박영옥(53‧여), 배은진(28‧여), 배도현(26) 씨 가족(울산 울주군)이 그 주인공. 이들이 부경대에 모이게 된 것은 지난 3월부터다. 딸 배은진 씨가 지난해 석사과정에 입학했고, 아들 배도현 씨가 올해 학부 3학년에 편입했다. 거기에 몇 해 전 이 대학 박사과정을 수료한 어머니 박영옥 씨가 올해 박사 졸업논문을 준비하면서 가족이 모이게 됐다. 전공도 모두 같은 계열이다. 박영옥 씨는 일어일문학부(박사수료), 배은진 씨는 일어교육전공(석사 2년), 배도현 씨는 일어일문학부(3학년)에서 공부하고 있다. 이들이 같은 대학에 다니게 된 것은 박영옥 씨의 학구열이 큰 영향을 미쳤다. 박영옥 씨는 “결혼을 하고 일을 하다가 35살이 돼서야 방송통신대학에 입학해 공부를 시작했다.”면서 “늦게 시작한 공부의 재미에 푹 빠져 울산대에서 석사과정도 마치고, 내친김에 박사에 도전하고 싶어 부경대에 지원했다.”고 말했다. 그는 박사과정을 수료한 뒤 부경대에서 강사로 활약하기도 했다. 배은진 씨는 “어릴 때부터 일과 공부를 병행하며 힘들어하는 어머니의 모습을 보고 나는 대학을 졸업하면 일에만 충실해야겠다고 생각했었다.”면서, “그런데 졸업 후 일본어 학원에서 일하다보니 더 잘 가르치고 싶은 욕심이 생겼고, 결국 공부를 더 하기 위해 어머니가 추천한 부경대에서 공부하게 됐다.”고 밝혔다. 아들인 배도현 씨는 전문대를 졸업하고 다시 대학생이 됐다. 그는 “졸업 전 진로를 고민할 때, 일은 나중에 할 수 있지만 공부는 지금 못하면 평생 미련이 남을 수 있다는 어머니의 조언을 듣고 공부를 더 하기로 결심했다.”면서, “공부를 다시 시작해보니 결정을 잘했다는 생각이 든다.”고 말했다. 박영옥 씨는 “자녀들과 함께 같은 대학에서 공부할 수 있어 정말 행복하다.”면서, “전폭적으로 지원해주는 남편에게도 감사하고, 박사 졸업논문도 열심히 써서 자녀들에게 자랑스러운 엄마가 되고 싶다.”며 웃었다. <부경투데이> The story of a family whose mother, daughter, and son all attend the same university is receiving attention. Park Young-ok said, "After marriage and work, I started studying at the College of Broadcasting and Communications until I was 35." I am so excited by the fun of studying late, I finished my master's course at Ulsan University, "she said. After completing her Ph.D. course, she worked as an instructor at Pukyong National University. Bae Eun-jin said, "When I saw my mother who was working hard together from my childhood, I thought that if I graduated from college, I would have to be faithful to my job." However, after working at a Japanese institute after graduation, I finally came to study at Pukyong National University, where my mother recommended me to study. " The son, Bae Do-hyun, graduated from college and became a university student again. "When I was worried about my career before graduation, I decided to do my studies after listening to my mother 's advice that I could do things later but my study could not be done for the rest of my life," he said.
