김 총장은 2일 오전 10시 대학본부 2층 대회의실에서 열린 ‘2019년 부경대학교 시무식’에서 신년사를 통해 이 같이 밝혔다. 김 총장은 “2019년 한 해는 어느 해보다 도전과 응전, 변화와 발전의 해가 될 것.”이라면서, “우리 모두 서로 협력/협업하며 ‘바람을 타고 물결을 헤쳐 먼 미래로 거침없이 나아가는 승풍파랑(乘風破浪)의 정신’을 가슴에 안고 ‘우리의 길, 새로운 길’을 힘차게 열어가자.”고 강조했다. 이날 시무식에는 교직원과 학생 등 300여명이 참석했다. 김 총장은 “지난 2018년은 우리 부경대학교가 어느 해보다 빛났던 해였다.”면서, “부산 최초의 대학으로서 유구한 역사와 품격 높은 교풍의 든든한 자부심 위에서 우리 부경인들은 저마다의 도전과 열정을 마음껏 펼쳐보였던 해.”라고 평가했다. 김 총장은 “부경의 도전과 열정은 오늘날 우리의 위상을 <통합 이후 인문사회, 자연과학, 경영, 공학, 수산과학, 환경해양 분야까지 시너지 효과를 내면서 최고의 성공적인 대학 발전 사례>로 세상에 뚜렷이 새기게 되었다.”고 평가했다. 김 총장은 “새로운 한반도 시대를 맞아 우리 대학은 남북협력과 발전에 기여하는 한반도의 대학, 인류의 진보에 앞장서는 글로벌 대학을 지향하며 미지(未知)의 세계를 선도적으로 열어가는 한 해를 만들어가자.”면서, “우리 모두 시선을 저 넓은 세상에 두고 열린 실천으로 자기계발과 대학 경쟁력 제고를 위해 매진하자.”고 강조했다. 김 총장은 “새로 다듬고 있는 우리 대학의 중장기 발전계획에 따라 △특성화, 확장, 융합을 통해 혁신적인 개인성장을 추구하고, △계층과 세대, 그리고 지역을 아우르는 따뜻한 사회통합을 지향하면서 교육과 연구, 사회봉사 분야의 괄목할만한 발전을 이루어낼 수 있도록 각자의 위치에서 맡은 바 임무에 최선을 다해주기를 당부 드린다.”고 말했다. 이날 참석자들은 총장 신년사가 끝난 뒤 서로 악수하며 밝게 덕담을 주고받으면서 신년인사를 나누고 기해년 첫 업무에 들어갔다. <부경투데이> The president Kim said through a New Year's Day in the "2019 Pukyong National University ceremony" held at the conference room on the 2nd floor of the university headquarters on January 2. He added, "The year 2018 was a year when Pukyong National University was brighter than any other year." Mr. Kim said, "The challenge and enthusiasm of PKNU has been clearly recognized in the world as <one of the most successful examples of university achievement, with synergistic effects in the areas of humanities, natural sciences, management, engineering, fisheries science>." The president Kim said, "In the new era of the Korean peninsula, our university aims to become a leading university in the Korean peninsula that contributes to inter-Korean cooperation and development. "We will put our eyes all over the world and try to open ourselves up for self-development and university competitiveness." The President Kim mentioned "In accordance with the mid-to long-term development plans of our newly refurbished college, we pursue innovative personal growth through specialization, expansion, and convergence. We aim at warm social integration that encompasses the hierarchy, I urge you to do your best in your position in order to achieve remarkable progress.
