부경대학교 창업동아리 ‘SLUSH’ 팀(대표 김세진‧시스템경영공학부 4학년)이 제안한 창업 아이디어 ‘초음파를 이용한 소변 튐 방지 장치’가 그것. 이들은 이 창업 아이디어로 최근 해운대 아르피나 유스호스텔에서 부산시 주최, 부경대 창업지원단과 부산경제진흥원, 한국남부발전 공동 주관으로 열린 제5회 부산 국제창업아이디어 경진대회에서 최우수상을 수상했다. 이 아이디어는 남자들이 좌변기에 소변을 눌 때 소변이 변기 밖으로 튀어 화장실 냄새를 유발하는 등의 문제를 해결할 수 있는 창업 아이템으로 우수성을 인정받았다. SLUSH 팀은 물의 표면장력 때문에 소변이 튄다는 점에 착안, 변기 안쪽에 초음파 모듈을 설치해 물의 표면장력을 낮추는 아이디어를 제시했다. 이들의 아이디어에 따르면 변기에 적외선 센서와 초음파 모듈을 부착하면 이 모듈에서 나오는 초음파 파장이 변기에 담긴 물의 표면장력을 낮추는 방식으로 소변이 튀는 것을 방지한다. 이 장치를 이용하면 소변이 튀는 범위를 변기 주변 40 cm에서 변기 안쪽으로 제한할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. SLUSH 팀 대표 김세진 학생은 “청결한 화장실 사용 문화를 만들기 위해 이 아이템으로 창업에 도전하고 싶다.”면서, “우리나라 2인 이상 가구가 2000만 세대에 이르는 점을 감안하면 시장규모는 1조 2천억 원에 이를 것으로 기대한다.”고 말했다. 한편 지난 9월 6일과 7일 양일간 열린 제5회 국제창업 아이디어 경진대회에는 전국 62개 팀 224명이 참석한 가운데 창업아이템 경연, 창업 특강, 공연 등 프로그램이 진행됐다. <부경투데이> The idea of a device that prevents men from splattering when they urinate into the toilet is drawing public attention. The idea was recognized as a start-up item that solves problems such as urine splashing out of the toilet and causing a toilet smell when men urinate into the toilet. The SLUSH team realized that urine splatters because of the surface tension of the water, and presented an idea to lower the surface tension of the water by installing an ultrasonic module inside the toilet. Their idea is to attach an infrared sensor and an ultrasonic module to the toilet to prevent urine splashing by lowering the surface tension of the water in the toilet. The device has been shown to limit the amount of urine splattered from 40 cm around the toilet to the inside of the toilet.
