국립부경대학교(총장 장영수)가 ‘크로스오버형 강의(crossover learning)’를 개설하는 등 학생 중심의 혁신 강의 개발에 나서 눈길을 끌고 있다.
부경대는 주제별 프로젝트형 강의 ‘문화아카이브’를 개발하고 오는 2학기부터 운영에 나선다고 2월 22일 밝혔다.
이 강의는 부경대가 소속 교원을 대상으로 최근 진행한 ‘융복합 교양교과목 개발 연구모임’ 지원 사업을 통해 각기 다른 전공의 부경대 교수 4명이 모여 새로 만든 온라인 교양강의다.
일반적인 대학 강의가 하나의 강의계획서로 한 학기(15주) 동안 진행되는 것과 달리, 이 강의는 살아가는데 필요한 집, 밥, 옷, 술, 돈 등 5개 주제에 대한 강의계획서를 각각 제시한다. 또 각 강의계획서는 모듈(module) 방식을 접목해 문화？예술, 인문, 과학기술, 정치？사회, 경제？경영 등 5가지 영역별 학습주제와 학습목표로 구성돼 있다.
이 강의는 5개의 강의 주제는 물론, 강의 주제에 따른 5개의 영역도 자유롭게 교차 선택하는 방식으로 학생이 직접 구성할 수 있기 때문에 모두 25가지의 각기 다른 유형으로 구현된다. 25개 유형의 강의는 각기 다른 교수가 맡기로 해 무려 25명의 교수가 이 강의를 맡는다.
이에 따라 학생은 ‘집-문화？예술, 밥-과학기술, 옷-인문, 술-정치？사회, 돈-경제？경영’ 혹은 ‘집-공학, 밥-인문, 옷-정치？사회, 술-경제？경영, 돈-문화？예술’ 등 관심사에 따라 강의유형을 개인 맞춤형으로 구성해 각 차시마다 해당 교수의 수업을 들을 수 있다.
강의 책임교수인 김창경 교수(중국학과)는 “하나의 전공능력을 갖춘 사람이 또 다른 전공능력을 습득할 수 있도록 교육하는 크로스오버형 강의의 장점을 극대화하기 위해 노력했다. 이 강의가 학생들의 통합적인 사고 강화와 학습 내용 내면화에 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.”라고 말했다.
이와 함께 부경대는 크로스오버형 강의를 비롯해 최근 ‘내가 원하는 융복합 교양교과목’ 공모전에서 학생들이 직접 제안한 ‘데이터분석기초’, ‘지구환경거버넌스’, ‘4차산업혁명개론’ 등 3개 강의를 올해 1학기와 2학기에 걸쳐 개설하기로 결정하는 등 학생 중심의 교육 혁신을 이끌고 있다. <부경투데이>

25 professors participate with five topics in one lecture ... Leading student-centered educational innovation
Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) is a hot topic in developing student-centered innovative lectures, opening a 'crossover learning' course.
Pukyong National University announced on February 22 that it will develop a 'Cultural Archive' of thematic project-type lectures and will start operating them beginning in the second semester.
This lecture is a newly created online liberal arts course by four Pukyong National University professors from different majors through the 'Research & Development Group of the Convergence Liberal Arts Course' support project recently conducted by Pukyong National University for faculty members.
Unlike general university courses that are held for one semester (15 weeks) with one lecture plan, this course presents a lecture plan covering each of the five topics necessary for living: housing, food, clothing, alcohol, and money. In addition, each class syllabus is composed of learning topics and learning objectives in five areas, including culture and art, humanities, science and technology, politics, society, economy, and management by combining a modular curriculum.
This lecture will be offered in 25 different variations, that students can choose themselves allowing those students to freely cross-select not only five lecture themes, but also five areas focused according to the lecture theme. 25 types of lectures will be given by different professors, so many as 25 professors will be in charge of this course.
Accordingly, students can choose 'home-culture？art, meal-science and technology, clothes-liberal arts, alcohol-politics？society, money-economy？management' or 'house-engineering, meal-liberal arts, clothes-politics？society, alcohol-economy？management, monet-culture？art' based on the students' interests and students can personalize the type of lecture, so it is possible to take classes from many professor at different times.
Professor Kim Chang-gyeong (Department of Chinese Studies), the chief professor responsible for the course, said, "We tried to maximize the merits of crossover learning, in which students with one major ability can acquire knowledge about another major. It is expected that this course will help students reinforce their integrated thinking and internalize the content they have learned."
In addition to this, Pukyong National University is leading student-centered educational innovation by making decision to open three lectures, including 'Basic of Data Analysis', ' Environmental Governance of Earth' and 'An Introduction to the Fourth Industrial Revolution', which students directly suggested at the recent 'The Best Convergence Liberal Arts Subject I picked' contest including crossover lectures this year during the first and second semesters.
