“후배들이 ‘조정 명문’ 부경대 제2의 전성기 이끌길”
- 부경대 조정부 동문회, 모교에 발전기금 1천만 원 기부

부산 국립부경대학교(총장 장영수) 조정부 동문들이 후배들을 위해 발전기금 1천만 원을 쾌척했다.

부경대 이봉수 동문(수산경영학과 83학번·대한조정협회 부회장)과 김구현 동문(경영학과 92학번·포항시청 조정팀 감독)은 4월 6일 오후 부경대 대학본부 3층 총장실을 찾아 부경대 조정부 동문회 이름으로 발전기금 1천만 원을 장영수 총장에게 전달했다.

부경대 조정부 동문회 회장 이봉수 동문은 “우리나라 조정 명문으로 인정받는 모교 조정부의 발전을 지원하기 위해 동문들이 십시일반 기금을 모았다. 후배들이 훌륭한 선수로, 지도자로 성장하는 데 보탬이 되길 바란다.”라고 밝혔다.

1983년 창단한 부경대 조정부는 전국체육대회에서 30개 이상의 금메달을 따고 각종 전국대회에서 100회 이상 우승하는 등 활약해 왔다. 부경대 조정부 출신 동문들은 전국 조정팀 지도자와 선수 등으로 활발한 활동을 펼치고 있다.

이봉수 동문은 “지금까지 후배들과 정기적으로 모임을 갖고 각종 훈련과 시합 때마다 지원해왔다. 이제 부경대 조정부가 제2의 전성기로 도약하는 계기로 삼기 위해 동문들이 뜻을 모아 이번에 기부하게 됐다.”라고 말했다.

그는 “비인기 종목이었던 조정이 이제는 지역마다 동호회가 생기고 많은 동호인들이 참여하며 인지도가 높아졌다. 후배들이 부경대 조정부의 재도약을 이끄는 것은 물론, 조정 문화 활성화에도 많은 보탬이 되기를 기대한다.”라고 밝혔다.

부경대는 이번 발전기금을 부경대 조정부의 학생 활동과 운영 지원 등을 위해 사용할 계획이다. <부경투데이>

"Hoping that our Pukyong friends will lead the 2nd prime time of the 'Best Rowing Team' of PKNU
- The Pukyong Rowing Team Alumni Association donated 10 million won School development fund to the alma mater. 

The alumni of the Rowing team at Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) in Busan generously contributed 10 million won of development funds for their university friends.

Pukyong National University's alumni, Lee Bong-soo (Class of '83, Marine Business & Economics, Vice Chairman of the Korea Rowing Association) and Kim Gu-hyun (Class of '92, Business Administration, Manager of Pohang City Rowing Team) visited the president's office on the 3rd floor of the administration Building in Pukyong National University on the afternoon of April 6 and delivered 10 million won in development fund to President Jang Young-soo in the name of the alumni association of the Pukyong National University's Rowing team. 

Lee Bong-soo, chairman of the alumni association of Pukyong National University's rowing team, said, "For the development of our alma-mater's rowing team, which has been recognized as the famous team of the rowing in Korea, alumni of Pukyong National University united together to raise the school development fund. I hope this could be even a small help to our school friends growing into great players and leaders."

Founded in 1983, Pukyong National University's Rowing Team has won more than 30 gold medals in national sports competitions and has been active in winning more than 100 times in various national competitions. Alumni from the Pukyong National University Rowing Department are actively engaged in activities as leaders and players of the Rowing Team all over the country.

Mr. Lee said, "We have held regular meetings with our juniors and offered backup for various trainings and competitions all the while. Now, to take this as an opportunity for the Pukyong National University's Row Team to leap to its second heyday, our alumni have gathered their will and cheerfully contributed to a development fund this time."

He said, "Rowing, which used to be an unpopular sport, has now gained recognition as clubs have formed in each region and many hobbyists have participated. We expect that Pukyong students will not only lead the reform of the Pukyong National University Rowing Team, but also contribute to vitalizing the Rowing Culture."

Pukyong National University plans to use this development fund to support student activities and operation of the Pukyong National University Rowing Team. <Pukyong Today>
