부경대, 창의융합형 공학인재 양성지원사업 평가 ‘최고등급’

- 차세대 IoT 가전 분야 인재 양성 성과

국립부경대학교 공학교육혁신센터(센터장 손민영)는 산업통상자원부 한국산업기술진흥원(KIAT) 주관 ‘창의융합형 공학인재 양성지원사업’ 2022년 단계평가 결과 최고등급(우수)을 받았다고 밝혔다.

13개 컨소시엄 73개 대학을 대상으로 실시한 이번 단계평가에서 부경대는 공과대학의 공학교육 혁신 방향 수립을 비롯해 산업계 수요와 대학 특성에 맞는 공학교육 프로그램 개발, 운영 등으로 창의적 공학인재 양성에 기여한 성과를 인정받았다.

부경대 공학교육혁신센터는 지난해 3월 산업 분야별 컨소시엄으로 구성 운영되는 창의융합형 공학인재 양성지원사업에 ‘차세대 Life Style’ 항목의 ‘IoT 가전’ 산업 분야에서 평가순위 1위로 선정된 바 있다.

컨소시엄에는 부경대와 부산대, 경상국립대, 동명대, 동서대, 인제대가 참여해 ‘IoT기반 DX가전 지능화 혁신 핵심인재양성’을 목표로 정부, 대학 및 지자체로부터 약 84억 원을 지원받아 2028년 2월까지 운영 예정이다.

부경대 손민영 센터장은 “이번 우수 평가를 계기로 앞으로도 창의·융합형 공학인재 양성과 공과대학 발전을 위해 노력하겠다. 또 컨소시엄 공동 목표 달성을 위해 양질의 교육을 제공하며 미래 신산업에 대응할 수 있는 지역 우수 인재를 양성할 수 있도록 힘쓰겠다.”라고 밝혔다.

한편 부경대 공학교육혁신센터는 이 사업에 2007년 1단계(5년), 2012년 2단계(10년)에 이어 2022년 3단계(6년)에 연속 선정됐고, 2018년, 2020년, 2021년 동남권 공학교육혁신센터 올해의 대학(최우수상) 및 2022년 공학교육혁신 유공자(단체) 우수 공학교육혁신센터로 선정돼 산업통상자원부 장관 표창을 받는 등 창의적 공학인재 양성과 공학교육의 글로벌 경쟁력 제고에 기여하고 있다. <부경투데이>

PKNU received the ‘top grade’ in the evaluation of the support project for training creative convergence engineering experts

The innovation center for engineering education of Pukyong National University (director Sohn Min-Young) announced that it received the highest grade (excellent) in the stage assessment in 2022 of the ‘support project for training creative convergence engineering experts’ supervised by the Korea institute for advancement of technology (KIAT) in the Ministry of trade, industry, and energy (MOTIE).

In this stage assessment conducted for 13 consortiums and 73 universities, Pukyong National University was recognized for its contribution for fostering creative engineering talents by developing and operating engineering education programs that meet the needs of the industry and the characteristics of universities, including the establishment of innovation directions for engineering education in the college of engineering.

The innovation center for engineering education of Pukyong National University was ranked number one in the ‘IoT home appliances’, industry field of ‘next generation lifestyle’ in the creative convergence type engineering talent training support project organized and operated by a consortium for each industry field in March, last year.

Pukyong National University, Pusan national university, Gyeongsang national university, Tongmyong university, Dongseo university, and Inje university participated in the consortium, and it will begin operating in February 2028 with support of about 8.4 billion won from the government, universities, and local governments with the goal of ‘innovative succession planning for IoT-based DX home appliance intelligence’.

Sohn Min-Young, center director of Pukyong National University said, “Taking the excellent assessment we received this time as an opportunity, we will continue to strive to foster creative and convergent engineering talents and develop the college of engineering. Also, to achieve the consortium's common goal, we will provide quality education and strive to nurture regional talents who can respond to the new industries in the future.”

As for the selection, the innovation center for engineering education of Pukyong National University was selected consecutively for this project, following the first stage in 2007 (for 5 years), the second stage in 2012 (10 years), and the third stage in 2022 (6 years), for 2018, 2020, and 2021, the university was selected as the university of the year (ranked top) by the innovation center for engineering education for the southeast region and selected as the innovative engineering education contributor in 2022 (organization sector), received a commendation from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy.
