국립부경대-국립한국해양대, ‘글로컬대학’ 공동추진 협약

- 공동추진위 운영 … 해양수산·해양 첨단과학기술 분야 글로벌 경쟁력 제고

- 「연합단과대학·대학원」 공동 설립 등 추진

국립부경대학교(총장 장영수)와 국립한국해양대학교(총장 류동근)는 3월 5일 국립한국해양대 대학본부에서 업무협약식을 열고, 양 대학 간 연합모델 구상을 위한 양해각서(MOU)를 체결했다.

앞서 글로컬대학30 사업 공모에 연합 유형의 가신청서를 제출한 이후 양 대학의 공식적인 첫 행보다.

양 대학은 올해 글로컬대학 사업유치를 위한 혁신계획을 공동으로 수립하는 등 해양수산분야 핵심 인재 양성과 산업 육성, 지역발전 및 세계적 경쟁력을 갖춘 혁신적인 대학 모델을 선도하는 데 협력하기로 했다.

특히 국립부경대와 국립한국해양대는 글로컬대학 공동 추진을 위한 공동추진위원회를 구성해 운영하는 등 실무절차에 나설 계획이다.

협약에 따라 양 대학은 세계적 수준의 해양수산 특성화 기반 「연합단과대학·대학원」을 공동으로 설립한다. 계획대로 진행되면 입학부터 교육과정 운영, 교원과 직원, 재원 등의 공동 운영도 가능해진다.

또 국책 및 연구과제 수주, 해외 교류 프로그램 등도 양 대학이 함께한다. 특화 분야의 시너지 극대화를 위해 사업단·연구소의 공동 운영도 추진할 예정이다.

양 대학은 이번 협약으로 상생 발전은 물론, 해양수산분야 핵심 인재 양성과 해양 첨단과학기술 연구개발 및 해양산업 발전에 기여하는 등 우리나라 특성화 분야 대학의 글로벌 발전 모델을 제시할 것으로 기대하고 있다. <부경투데이>

On March 5th, Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) and Korea maritime and ocean university (president Ryu Dong-Keun) held a signing ceremony for a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at the main building of Korea maritime and ocean university (KMOU) to outline a cooperative model between the two universities.

After submitting a joint application for the open call project 'glocal university 30', this marks the first official step taken by both universities.

Both universities have agreed to collaborate on fostering key talent in the marine and fisheries sector, promoting industries, and leading an innovative university model with regional development and global competitiveness, including jointly formulating an innovation plan to attract glocal university projects for this year's glocal university initiative.

Pukyong National University and Korea maritime and ocean university plan to take practical steps by establishing and operating a joint committee for the collaborative pursuit of the glocal university plan.

According to the agreement, both universities will jointly establish a world-class marine and fisheries specialized institution called the 'union college and graduate school'. If the plan progresses as intended, collaborative operations from admissions to curriculum management, faculty, and staff, as well as funding will become feasible for both universities.

Additionally, both universities will collaborate on securing national and research projects, as well as participating in international exchange programs. To maximize synergy in specialized fields, both universities plan to jointly operate research centers and institutes.

Through this agreement, both universities aim not only to foster mutual growth but also to contribute to the cultivation of key talents in the marine and fisheries sector, research and development in advanced marine science and technology, and the development of the marine industry, expectations are high for both universities to present a global development model for specialized universities in South Korea's characteristic fields. <Pukyong Today>
