국립부경대, ‘자유전공학부 체육대회’ 첫 개최
- 1일 체육관 … 자유전공학부 학생 200여 명 참가

국립부경대학교(총장 배상훈)가 5월 1일 체육관에서 ‘자유전공학부 체육대회’ 행사를 처음으로 개최했다.
국립부경대는 올해 처음 무전공으로 입학한 자유전공학부 학생들이 서로 교류, 협력하며 대학에 적응할 수 있도록 전폭적으로 지원하기 위해 이번 체육대회를 마련했다.
국립부경대 자유전공학부(학부장 양현경)가 주관한 이날 행사에는 자유전공학부 학생 200여 명이 참가한 가운데 팀별로 축구, 농구, 피구 등 종목과 미션달리기, 줄다리기, 퀴즈 등을 진행했다.
이날 배상훈 총장도 행사에 참여해 농구 결승에 앞서 시투한 것을 비롯, 총장실과 교수회, 생활협동조합에서 참가자들을 위한 경품들을 지원하며 학생들을 응원했다.
국립부경대는 올해 처음 신설한 자유전공학부에 학생 896명이 입학함에 따라, 이들이 자유롭게 전공을 탐색하고, 활발한 교류활동을 펼칠 수 있도록 이번 체육대회를 비롯해 자유전공길라잡이센터 신설, 전공탐색 멘토단과 길라잡이 교수 및 전공별 지도교수 운영, 오픈라운지 조성 등 다양한 지원책을 펴고 있다.
자유전공학부장 양현경 교수는 “이번 행사를 통해 자유전공학부생들이 자연스럽게 친해지며 대학 생활에 적응하고, 대학에 더욱 소속감을 느끼는 데 도움이 되기를 바란다.”라고 밝혔다. <부경투데이>

Pukyong National University Hosts First ‘College of Liberal Studies Sports Day’
- Over 200 Students Gather in the Gymnasium on the 1st
Pukyong National University (President Bae Sang-hoon) held its first-ever College of Liberal Studies Sports Day at the university gymnasium on May 1.
This event was organized to help first-year students of the newly established College of Liberal Studies―who enrolled without a declared major―connect with one another, build teamwork, and smoothly adapt to university life. The university provided full support to ensure the success of the event.
Organized by the College of Liberal Studies (Dean Yang Hyun-kyung), the event brought together over 200 students who took part in team-based competitions, including soccer, basketball, and dodgeball, as well as fun activities such as relay missions, tug-of-war, and a quiz game.
President Bae Sang-hoon also attended the event, showing his support by making the ceremonial tip-off before the basketball final. In addition, the President’s Office, Faculty Association, and University Cooperative sponsored various prizes for the participants, adding to the festive atmosphere and encouraging student engagement.
With 896 students newly enrolled in the College of Liberal Studies this year, Pukyong National University is actively providing a range of support programs to help them explore academic interests and build strong connections. These efforts include hosting the Sports Day, establishing the Liberal Studies Guidance Center, operating a major exploration mentoring group, assigning resolute faculty advisors and mentors by major, and creating an open lounge for casual interaction.
Professor Yang Hyun-kyung, Dean of the College of Liberal Studies, stated, “I hope this event helps our students naturally bond with one another, smoothly adjust to college life, and feel a deeper sense of belonging at the university.” <Pukyong Today>
