국립부경대 고 김한군 교수의 제자 사랑, 가족이 잇다

국립부경대학교(총장 배상훈)의 고(故) 김한군 명예교수 가족들이 고인의 이름으로 학교에 장학금을 전달해 주위를 훈훈하게 하고 있다.
국립부경대는 6월 2일 오전 대학본부 3층 접견실에서 고 김한군 명예교수 장학금 전달식을 열었다.
이날 고 김한군 명예교수의 아들 김정일, 김성일 씨 등 유족들은 고인의 소속 학과였던 공과대학 금속공학전공 학생들의 장학금으로 써달라며 1천만 원을 배상훈 총장에게 전달했다.
1978년 국립부경대에 부임해 2013년 퇴임한 고 김한군 명예교수는 30년 이상 교육과 연구에 힘쓰며 금속 표면 열처리 등 신소재 분야 전문가로 활약했으며, 올해 4월 별세했다.
특히 그는 1984년부터 매달 월급의 일부를 떼어 제자들을 위한 장학금으로 냈고, 퇴임할 때까지 총 1천만 원을 기부하며 제자 사랑을 실천했다.
고 김한군 명예교수의 아들 김정일 씨와 김성일 씨는 “가족 모두 아버지의 제자 사랑을 익히 알고 있었다. 아버지를 기리고자 하는 가족들의 마음과 아버지의 뜻이 학과에 이어지기를 바란다.”라고 밝혔다.
국립부경대는 유족들의 기부금을 ‘고 김한군 명예교수 장학금’으로 명명하고, 금속공학전공 재학생들의 장학금으로 사용할 계획이다. <부경투데이>
Late Professor Kim Han-goon’s Love for His Students Lives on Through His Family
- In His Memory, the Family Donates 10 Million KRW in Scholarships to Pukyong National University
The family of the late Professor Emeritus Kim Han-goon of Pukyong National University (President Bae Sang-hoon) has made a heartfelt donation in his name, touching the university community.
On the morning of June 2, a scholarship donation ceremony was held in the reception room on the third floor of the university’s main administration building.
Professor Kim Han-goon’s sons, Kim Jeong-il and Kim Seong-il, attended the ceremony and presented a donation of 10 million KRW to President Bae Sang-hoon. They asked that the funds be used to support students in the Department of Metallurgical Engineering within the College of Engineering, where the late professor Kim Han-goon served during his career.
Professor Kim Han-goon, who joined Pukyong National University in 1978 and retired in 2013, dedicated over three decades to education and research. A leading expert in advanced materials, particularly in surface heat treatment of metals, he passed away in April of this year.
Beginning in 1984, Professor Kim Han-goon quietly set aside a portion of his monthly salary to support scholarships for his students. By the time he retired, he had donated a total of 10 million KRW―an enduring expression of his deep commitment to student success.
His sons, Kim Jeong-il and Kim Seong-il, shared, “Our entire family was always aware of how deeply our father cared for his students. We hope that our father’s legacy and the love he had for his students will continue to live on in the department.”
Pukyong National University plans to name the donation the Professor Emeritus Kim Han-goon Memorial Scholarship, which will be used to support current students in the Department of Metallurgical Engineering. <Pukyong Today>
