What is the secret of PKNU’s internationalization?

An ambassador Baek Seong Taek to Busan was appointed as a consultant to PKNU.
- He will support the exchange of academic information and the host of the international events.
- He received the appointment letter on April 18th.

Baek Seong Taek who is 65 and an ambassador to Busan was appointed as one of the consultants to PKNU to improve the level of PKNU’s internationalization. The appointment ceremony was held in the president’s room in the administration Building in Daeyeon campus on April 18th.

As a foreign affairs expert, he will be in charge of the international exchanges because he was an expert who deliberates Korean residents abroad in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. In addition, he was consul general of the Republic of Korea in Istanbul.

He will help PKNU to build up a network to exchange effectively with foreign universities about a lot of academic information and to let Korean students studying abroad and foreign students in Korea study in the better environment. Also, the network will make it possible to hold many international events.

He spoke as follows. “I am going to strive to bring up many capable students who will be able to make PKNU to have high standard of internationalization.”

Meanwhile, there are many honorary consuls in PKNU including Kang Eui Ku who is the president of Cosmos Shipping Corporation and the president of the consular corps in Busan. They are playing a major role in inspiring many students with the importance of internationalization. The students will be able to learn international knowledge and the needed abilities through them. Moreover, they have been trying to make internationalization of Busan since March in 2010.
