PKNU is going to cooperate with British Council to make in-service training programs for English teachers.

PKNU which president is Park Maeng Eon made an arrangement with British Council which director is Roland Davies to improve the quality of the English education at the meeting room on the third floor of the Administration Building in PKNU on April 22nd. PKNU is the first place where the training classes for English teachers are going to open in concurrence with British Council in Busan.

They will develop a variety of useful programs together for many English teachers in elementary, middle, and high schools in Busan. Also, they will get down to this business in August by being supported by Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education.

To implement this project successfully, PKNU decided to prepare many spaces including British Council office, instructor’s rooms, English library, and English classrooms on the third floor of Jang Bogo Hall in Daeyeon campus in PKNU.

British Council will give PKNU a lot of helpful counsel with talented faculty, effective curriculums, and English education.

In addition, both of two institutions will strive to make a better standard in the field of the language study abroad for many students in PKNU studying in England, and the English education for many adults and students.

As British Council in Korea is a formal institution of England which is playing a major role in the cultural exchanges by being supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it has administrated IELTS (International English Language Testing System), which is a kind of test to evaluate non-English-speaking pupils’ English ability. <Pukyong Today>
