“We hope that PKNU helps us to develop the field of fishing industry in Algeria.”
The minister of the Ministry of Fishing Industry Resources, Abdellah Khenafou who is 61, visited PKNU, and asked to increase the international exchange in the field of fisheries oceanography.
Abdellah Khenafou attended a ceremony which was held to celebrate the completion of the courses of 2011 fishery processing and distribution of Algeria in Dongwon Jang Bogo Hall in PKNU. At that time, he stated, “I am honored to cooperate with PKNU for the development of the fisheries industry which is the leader in the field of fisheries oceanography. I hope that these courses will be an opportunity to expand the international exchange between Korea and Algeria in this field.” Furthermore, 20 public officials who are working in the fishing industry have gained a lot of knowledge related to fisheries oceanography over the last three weeks.
Moreover, he added. “43 public officials who are working in the fishing industry have acquired a lot of information by being sent to PKNU since 2007. All of the knowledge and the information have helped to develop the fishing industry of Algeria.”
He surveyed the educational facilities related to the fishing industry such as the Center for the Control of Fish Diseases, and he showed an interest in cooperation for international exchange in the field of fisheries oceanography.
He said to the President of PKNU, Park Meang Eon, “PKNU is an important companion among African countries that want to develop the fishing industry. Therefore, I really hope that PKNU helps them, including Algeria, by developing many useful educational programs related to the fishing industry.”
PKNU has been preparing a project to teach people skills related to the fishing industry by inviting people from Africa to visit Korea. Currently, 172 African public officials and businessmen from 22 African countries have participated in this project. <Pukyong Today>
