It is confirmed that the general assembly of Port-city Universities League(here after referred to as PUL) will be held in Pukyong National University
- First time holding in Korea 14 Universities from 11 countries will take part in this event.

The year of the 2013 general assembly of Port-city Universities League will be held in Pukyong National University. For the first time Korea was designated as a venue of the assembly which started from the last 2006.
According to PKNU, PUL announced in the University of Southhempton that PKNU will be the one organizing the 2013 general assembly.
PKNU have ranked high in its great capacities of operating the research center of Fisheries and the ocean sciences which is the largest in Korea and other research centers relating to ocean sciences and ocean bio process as well as holding the cutting edge infrastructures.
The assembly in coming this October will be attended by 14 Universities from home and abroad including Korea, England, Japan, Canada, China, India, Portugal, Turkey, Egypt, Vietnam, Brazil etc. They will discuss many issues on maritime fields and personal exchanges as well.

UL is a council for personal and academic exchanges among faculty members and students in the eminent universities around the world. Since the 1st exchanges between University of the southhempton and Yokohama National University in 2006, it has been an arena for the exchanges of the latest information on port development and technology renovation.
dong myong, Bae, the head of the 2013 assembly, a professor in Naval architecture and system engineering said that “holding this event in PKNU represents the status of the school centering on convergence of the marine science and academy and we will make concerted effort to further the exchanges on academic fields and develop Busan port.”<Pukyong Today>
