Recently an exciting topic of conversation revolves around a mud volcano which emerged in the Black Sea that has been named “Busan”.
This is the first time for a seabed in Turkey to be named after a city in Korea. According to the findings, these names will be used to make Water Maps as well as to implement various research. Professor Kim and Professor G.Cifci released their thesis titled, ‘Izmir and Busan Mud Volcano found through AVO Analysis’ during the 2012 European Geosciences Union in Vienna, Austria, 22nd-27th April. A mud volcano is a kind of landform on the seabed the existence of gas hydrates, with clean energy and it is usually found in the Black Sea in Turkey. Another research project titled, ‘The Acoustic and Physical Properties on Sedimentary Layers Containing Natural Gas in Yeo-su Bay’ was proceeded by Professor Kim and released at the Geological Society of Korea. <Pukyong Today> |
