PKNU is in progress of building large-scale dormitory as BTL The way of building is BTL (Build-Transfer-Lease). Hanhwa Engineering & Construction, Dong Shin Composites, and C&S Corporation will participate in this construction as the project operators. This BTL, which is for expansion of dormitory facility in domestic national universities, is the way that private operators invest fund into the building and lease it to government for collecting of invested money. The term of managing and operating lasts for 20 years. The scale of this business is around 30 billion won and its total area is 19,800㎡ of 20 floors which are nineteen floors above ground and one underground. The place of building will be right next to Sejong Building which is a dormitory in Daeyeon campus. The operators will start the construction in this June to run it from March 2016. This business is the second BTL of the university. Pukyong National University built the dormitory Sejong (capability of 1632 people) in 2009 as BTL way. If this construction is completed, PKNU will have dormitories for 3,329 students including existing dormitories in Daeyeon and Yongdang campuses. The rate of accommodation will be raised from 11.6% to 17.4%. PKNU decided to raise convenience of resident students in the new building by raising standard area for each room (18㎡) to 21㎡ and installing interior balcony and rooftop lounge. Meanwhile, in the meeting room on the third floor of administration building, Kim Young-Seup, who is president of PKNU, had a ceremony for enforcement agreement of BTL for dormitory construction with Kim In-Nyun who is director of building business of Hanhwa Engineering & Construction, Im Chang-Sup who is representative director of Dong Shin Composites, and Jung Hae-Suk who is chief of headquarters of C&S Corporation.<Pukyong today> |
