PKNU was selected as the only 'Fourth Industrial Innovation Leading University' in the Southeast Region
10 universities including PKNU...Push Forward Future talent cultivation for the new industry field

Pukyong National University (President Kim Young-seup) was selected as the "4th Industrial Revolution Innovation Leading University" among the southeastern universities.

This project is the financial support project first introduced by the Ministry of Education in order to realize "the nurturing talent of the promising field of the fourth industrial revolution" which is one of the government's national tasks.

The Ministry of Education announced on the 28th that it selected 10 universities as the "Fourth Industrial Revolution Innovative University" as one of the LINC + projects.

The selected universities include Pukyong National University in the Southeastern region, Kookmin University, Dankook University, Korea National University of Technology, Hanyang University (ERICA) in the metropolitan area, Korea Technology Education University and Hanbat University in Chungcheong Province, Jeonju University and Honam University in Honam Jeju, Kangwon National University in DaeKyung Kangwon region.

These 10 universities will receive annual funding of 1 billion won each for four years. Through this, we will cultivate future talents to lead new industries such as smart healthcare, autonomous vehicles, Internet (IoT), AR (augmented reality) / VR (virtual reality), smart factory, and artificial intelligence robot.

PKNU's new industry is smart healthcare. Through this project, it is aimed to nurture biomedical IT human resources capable of developing convergence technology in the age of aging society.

PKNU is making great efforts to characterize bio-health, convergence IT component materials and marine fisheries biotechnology field through LINC + business (Prof. Seo Yong-cheol). PKNU plans to do its best to educate, research, and industry-academia cooperation in the smart healthcare field by providing convergence-based curriculum based on its competitiveness in this field and creating on-site practical maker infrastructure (Dragon Valley) on campus.

"This project will provide personalized education at universities and will be a chance for learner-centered education and industry-oriented education to be settled," said Professor An Ye-chan (Department of Biomedical engineering at PKNU, photo), the director of business innovation at the 4th Industrial Revolution of PKNU. He added "We will do our utmost to nurture the best medical engineering IT talent in the region. "

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education conducted a written evaluation (first round) of application for business with 55 universities nationwide, and selected 15 universities.
