Professor Park Sung-heum of PKNU 'Glory honor' in Busan Science & Technology Award
Professor Park received a commendation and won the prize of 10 million won for the Busan Science and Technology Award at the awards ceremony as part of the 2019 Busan Science Festival which is held at the Busan National Science Museum in Gijang-gun, Busan on 13, April. Professor Park has published 81 pieces of research papers on organic materials and optoelectronic devices that utilize them for the last five years, including the development of organic-inorganic hybrid laminated solar cells that can dramatically improve the efficiency of solar cells. He has been highly praised for his research achievements by applicating and registering many domestic and foreign patents related to his research. Professor Park said, "I would not have the pleasure of today without students of optoelectronics research labs who have always worked hard and believed in me since I was in a tough situation.", he added. "I would also like to thank the researchers and graduate students who are working hard to develop next-generation optoelectronic devices and infinite clean energy devices, and the researchers of Him Tech Co., Ltd. who are working to commercialize them.” Professor Kim Kyung-cheon (Mechanical Engineering) of Pusan National University received award in the section of engineering with professor Park, and teacher Lee Chang-hyeon of Myeongho high school won a prize in the science teacher awards section of the awards ceremony. Busan Science and Technology Prize is awarded by Busan Metropolitan and Federation of Busan Science and Technology (FOBST) for the selection of outstanding scientists from the region every year since 2002 to increase the research motivation of local science and technology personnel. <Pukyong Today> |
