When the head of a household who was a university professor passed away, his wife and children donate a large amount of legacy to the university where the professor has been devoted, leaving a calm touch to the people around him.

His wife Kim Yoon-ja (72) and his son Lim Jin-young (52), who are the family of late professor, Lim Uh-joh (Mechanical Engineering) who retired from Pukyong National University in 2008, visited the president office of the 3rd floor of Administration building of Pukyong National University and they delivered 100 million won to Kim Young-seup.

"This money is a legacy left by my father who suddenly passed away because of a heart attack last February," said his eldest son, Lim Jin-young. "I was able to donate to Pukyong National University in accordance with my father’s wish to help students who have difficulties in their financials."

Professor Lim Uh-joh, who taught the students for more than 30 years after his admission to Pukyong University in 1975, wrote books such as 「Corrosion and Method」 and 「Corrosion and Method of Mechanical Materials」. He is also a recognized scholar in the field of corrosion research, developing core technologies for advanced corrosion protection systems using magnesium.

Lim Jin-young said, "My father, who had showed strong attachement to school and his disciples, was also eager to study his major, but he always thought about how his disciples could find jobs that fit their aptitude and career."

He said, "My father, who went to high school and university by earning his own tuition for his family because of financial difficulty in his youth, always used public transportation. He is the one who has become the habit of thrift and saving so that he cannot eat out family well.", and his eyes were reddended, "I believe that my father who has given me the honest and faithful living will surely be delighted to hear the news about this donation."

Pukyong National University will dispend these donations to undergraduate and graduate student scholarships for mechanical engineering, which professor Lim had been serving. <Pukyong Today>
