University lecture that only professors explain? NO! 'Innovative lectures' rise out. Including the 'co-teaching and team teaching' method in which two or more professors conduct classes, 'flip learning' which students learn online lecture videos in advance and then have discussions during class, and the 'blended learning', which combines on-line and offline classes of Innovative teaching methods will be applied. Additionally, learning method such as ‘problem-based learning,’ in which students actively construct knowledge through the process of solving the proposed problem, and ‘team-based learning,’ in which team-based problem-solving classes are conducted based on individual prior learning, are also introduced. The achievement's evaluation of the 'Innovative lectures' will be based on absolute scale. To that end, the Division of Academic Affairs at Pukyong National University established the 'Operation Guideline for Innovative Lectures', while the Executive Office of Future-Ready Education has provided related education to professors who open innovative courses and published and distributed the 'Innovative Teaching Method Guidebook' by organizing researchers in related fields. Jang Young-soo, the President of Pukyong National University, said, "For the management of innovative courses, we plan to increase operational performance by not only supporting the operation of planning, research, and necessary textbooks, but also by deciding whether to continue lectures through lecture evaluation. We will build our competencies so that university lectures can be student-centered, creative, convergent innovative lectures." <Pukyong today> |
