Public attention to the ’Innovative Lecture’ Wave in campus town in Busan including Pukyong National University The newspaper published an article titled <"We must change to survive", ’Innovative lecture’ Wave in Campus town in Busan> The article said, "Innovation is in the groove in universities of Busan," and added, "Various changes in universities are being attempted to hold a dominant position in the tough competition due to the reduction in the number of students and the after-effect of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), and to enhance competency of students." This article specially focused on the innovative lecture at Pukyong National University as a representative example of the innovative class at universities in Busan. The article introduced, "Pukyong National University announced on 1, February that about 33% of classes in the first semester, 901 classes (705 majors, 196 liberal arts), will be transformed into innovative lectures," and continued, "A method in which the student leads lecture and the professor plays a role in helping the process will replace the way only professors teach and deliver lectures unilaterally." Pukyong National University’s innovative lecture, which begins in coming March, is one of educational innovative measures to reinforce educational competitiveness, keeping pace with the rapidly changing educational paradigm. All it means is that Pukyong National University institutionalized innovative lectures. Pukyong National University published the ’Innovative lectures Guideline’ for institutionalization, also distributed the ’Guidebook for the Innovative Method of Teaching’. Jang Young-soo, the president of Pukyong National University, said in this article, "Our university plans to actively support planning, research, and textbooks for the management of innovative lecture programs, and to improve operational output through lecture evaluation." The article continued to introduce ▷Pusan National University’s ‘Student Contest for the Elective Liberal Arts Course’, credit exchange with eight national universities, and ▷innovative programs at Dong-A University and Dongseo University. <Pukyong Today> |
