            3,298 graduates from Pukyong National University's ‘Live YouTube’ Commencement Ceremony

            Pukyong National University held the 'February Commencement ceremony of 2021' at 10:30 am on the 19th at the university theater. The number of graduates is 3,298, including 2,991 undergraduates, 222 masters, and 85 doctors.
However, to prevent the spread of Covid-19, only 80 people, including 2 special awardees, 8 representatives of bachelor's and master's degree recipients, and 50 doctorate degree recipients and personnel, attended the commencement ceremony.
To comply with the social distancing rules, there were no invitations to foreign guests including parents, and the singing of the national anthem was omitted. The attendees were not allowed to shake hands with each other, only exchanged nods, and the body temperature of visitors was checked with a thermal imaging camera at the entrance of the event hall.
Pukyong National University broadcasted the on the spot of the commencement ceremony on the day from am 10:30 on the official Youtube channel of Pukyong National University with nine electronic boards installed on campus for about an hour. The event took place in sequence, the pledge of allegiance, an academic report, an address from the university president, the presentation of prize, the degree conferment, and commemorative photo shoots.
On this day, Park Jin-woo (Dept. of Electrical Engineering) of Future Convergence received the President's Award, and Jeon Woo-seon (Dept. of International Commerce) received the Alumni Association Award for the superior grades in the faculty.
Pukyong National University lends graduation caps and gowns for graduates from the 18th to the 25th, allowing the graduates to take commemorative photos on campus and share their farewell greetings. Diplomas can be picked up by visiting the faculty office or by mail upon request.
"We express our deep consolation and gratitude for each of our graduates who have endured the painful time of the Covid-19 pandemic and at the same time have reached the precious fruitful moment of graduation," President Jang Young-soo said through his congratulatory remark.
He continued, "We are in the middle of chaos that we have never experienced before, but with your fortitude and perpetual challenge, I hope that you boldly go where no man has gone before and contribute to the development of the country and society." <Pukyong Today>
