"I started university late, but it was the best time ever of my life." Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-soo) announced that the 'late bloomers' of Future Convergence, who first enrolled in 2017, received honorary diplomas on the 19th after going through four years of working during the day and studying at night. Future Convergence College is a support a lifelong education project supported by the Ministry of Education that supports adult learners over 30 years with an academic background of high school or higher, or those who are employed (over 3 years of terms of office) after graduating from high school (specialized high school, Meister High School) to obtain a regular bachelor's degree. The students who graduated on this day were 53 students, including ▷Department of lifelong education and counseling (23 students), ▷Mechanical and Naval Architecture Convergence Engineering (12 students), and ▷Electrical and Electronic Software Engineering (18 students). The age range of graduates is widely distributed in 20s to 60s. Over the past four years, they have burned their academic enthusiasm through customized academic programs for adult learners, such as evenings, weekends, and online classes. Park Jin-woo (age 47, a company employee) at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Software Engineering was selected as an excellent student among the 3,298 Pukyong National University graduates who are graduating with him on the same day and received the President's award. It was also a hot topic that the father and daughter graduated at the same time on this day. The father, Choi Dae-sik from the Department of Mechanical and Naval Architecture Convergence Engineering, and his daughter, Choi Eun-young of the Department of Ocean Engineering, and the father Gam Eun-geun of the Department of Mechanical and Naval Architecture Convergence Engineering, and his daughter, Gam Ha-young of the Department of Chemistry, received diplomas on the same day.
