Pukyong Today 부경대, 학군단 창설 48년 만에 첫 여성 후보생 선발 제52기 여성 학군사관 후보생 모집˙˙˙전용 생활관 등 지원 

부경대학교가 처음으로 여성 학군사관(ROTC) 후보생을 모집한다.

이번 여성 학군사관 후보생 선발은 부경대 육군 학군단이 1963년 창설된 이후 48년 만에 처음이다.

이를 위해 부경대는 여성 학군사관 후보생 전용 생활관, 휴게실, 화장실 등을 설치할 계획이다.

이번 여성 학군사관 후보생 선발은 육군이 지난해 숙명여대 등 7개 대학에서 60명의 여성 학군사관 후보생 선발을 결정한 데 이어 올해부터 학군단이 설치돼 있는 전국 대학을 대상으로 160명을 추가 선발키로 한 데 따른 것이다.

오는 8월 여성 학군사관 후보생으로 최종 선발되면 2년간의 후보생 훈련과정을 거쳐 대학 졸업 후 육군 소위로 임관해 전공에 따라 각 병과에서 2년 4개월 동안 직무를 수행하게 된다.

여성 학군사관 후보생은 임관일 기준 만 20~27세의 2학년 재학생을 대상으로 선발한다.
지원자는 내달 1일까지 학생중앙군사학교 홈페이지(www.armyofficer.mil.kr)에 지원서를 접수하면 된다. 1, 2차 선발을 거쳐 최종 합격자 발표는 8월 25일.

한편, 부경대 육군 학군단은 2007년 종합우수학군단, 2010년 하계입영훈련 우수학군단으로 선정됐고, 지난 5년간 여군장교 31명을 배출한 교내 여군사관 동아리를 지원하는 등 우수 군사교육단으로 인정받고 있다.<부경투데이>

The ROTC of PKNU is selecting the female cadets for the first time since the establishment of ROTC in 48years.

The ROTC (Reserve Officers’ Training Corps) of PKNU is selecting the female cadets for the first time. It is singling out the female cadets in 48 years since the military ROTC was founded in 1963.

Because of this fact, PKNU is going to build the living spaces, the lounges, and the rest rooms for the female cadets.

Last year, the army decided to select about 60 women as the cadets in 7 universities including Sookmyung Women’s University, and all of the universities which have ROTC agreed to select 160 more women cadets from this year.

This coming August, the name of the successful candidates will be announced, and they are going to go on training course for two years. After graduating, they will do their duties which are based on their major as a second lieutenant for two years and four months.

There are two requirements which female applicants should meet. First, it is possible for sophomore only to enlist in the ROTC. Second, it is okay for 20 to 27 years old only to apply for the ROTC. If you want to enlist in the ROTC, you should make an application through the website of Army Cadet Command (www.armyofficer.mil.kr) by May 1st. There will be two processes of the selection, and the name of the final selections will be announced on August 25th.

Meanwhile, the military ROTC of PKNU was selected as the overall excellent ROTC in 2007. In addition, it was also selected as the outstanding ROTC in the part of the summer training which is to encourage students to join the army. Moreover, it achieved recognition as the great ROTC because it had supported the club in PKNU which had produced 31 female commissioned officers for the last five years. <Pukyong Today>
