지난 1월 26일 부경대학교 대연캠퍼스 정문 앞 식당. 한 무리의 대학생들이 작은 항아리를 들고 식당에 들어갔다. 식당 주인은 선뜻 쌀을 한 바가지 퍼 항아리에 담았다. 학생들은 인사하고 나오며 가게 입구에 ‘부경대와 함께하는 집’이라는 스티커를 붙였다. 이날 이 식당뿐만 아니라 부경대 인근 식당 수십 곳에서 같은 장면이 펼쳐졌다. 이 이색적인 장면은 부경대학교 대외홍보대사 ‘블루’(대표 김현서) 학생들이 4년째 펼치고 있는 ‘사랑의 쌀 나눔 행사’ 모습이다.
올해도 ‘블루’ 학생 24명은 지난 1월 26일과 28일 이틀에 걸쳐 대학 인근 식당 등 가게 80여 곳을 돌며 쌀을 모았다. 이렇게 모은 쌀은 한 바가지부터 한 포대까지 모두 120 kg에 달했다. 행사에 참여한 한 식당 주인은 “해마다 이맘때면 학생들이 쌀을 받으러 와서 올해는 언제 올까하고 기다렸다.”면서, “우리에게 좋은 일 할 수 있는 기회를 주는 학생들이 참 기특하다.”고 말했다. 지난해에는 이 봉사활동 소식을 접한 정세균 국회의장이 이들을 직접 찾아 부경대를 방문해 ‘대견하다’며 격려하기도 했다. 부경대생들은 이렇게 모은 쌀을 29일 사회복지단체인 전국천사무료급식소 부산본부(부산 초읍동)에 기부하고, 이날 급식소를 찾은 노인들을 대상으로 배식지원, 청소, 설거지 등의 봉사활동도 펼쳤다. 행사를 주관한 김현서 학생(27‧해양수산경영학과 3학년)은 “이번 활동을 하면서 추운데 고생한다며 선뜻 쌀을 내주는 가게들의 훈훈한 인심에 큰 감동을 받았다.”면서, “입구에 ‘부경대와 함께하는 집’ 스티커를 붙여놓은 가게가 늘어나는 것을 보면 정말 뿌듯하다.”고 말했다. <부경투데이> On January 26th, a restaurant in front of the main entrance of the PKNU campus. A group of college students went into a restaurant with a small jar. The owner of the restaurant packed the rice in a large jar of rice. This extraordinary scene is the 'Love of Rice Sharing Event' held by student members of PKNU's PR ambassador, 'Blue' (representative Kim Hyun-seo) for 4 years. Since 2015, they have been collecting rice at restaurants near the campus every year and donating them to social welfare organizations. Over 4 years, there are over 340 restaurants. This year, 24 students of Blue students gathered rice on the 26th and 28th of January, around 80 shops including restaurants near the university. The rice collected in this way reached 120 kg. "Every this time of years, the students came to receive rice and waited for us, so I waited them this year as well." said one restaurant owner who attended the campaign. "I am very grateful for the students who give us the opportunity to do good work." Last year, the chairman of the National Assembly, Jeong Se-kyun, who had been informed about the volunteer activities, visited the PKNU and encouraged them. On January 29, students of PKNU donated the collected rice to a social welfare organization, Nationwide Angel Free Feeding Center Busan Headquarters (Cho-eup,Busan), and donated food, cleaning and washing dishes to the elderly. Kim Hyeon-seo, a student(Department of marine fisheries management,3rd Grade) who conducted the event, said, "I was greatly impressed by the warm hospitality of the stores that gave me the rice, "I'm really proud of the growing number of stores with stickers." <Pukyong Today> |
